Hello everyone! I just went to watch the sneak preview of Death Note 2 The Last Name yesterday!! It was just as i expected, really GREAT!! However, not the storyline, cos the storyline is always unexpected, haha!! those who watched death note should know. I really admire Light and L's intelligence, they are so smart!! Who would have thought what would be happening next? But they knew! (except the last part where Light kindda fell behind in 'looking far' into the future) Though my friend said that the first movie was better, I feel that both of them are equally good. Even though i only read a few of its manga before the movie, I loved it more than many many of other movies i watched. But why? Who knows? Maybe its because of the exhilarating storyline or wierd characters or is it just because it has the essence of animes? Haha... I remember the first time i heard of it was at the train station. I couldnt believe my eyes. Death Note? In conservative Singapore? Impossible... But it was indeed true. I quickly made sure that i had time to go watch the movie. And it was better than expected. But what can i say? It was a blockbuster in many asian countries. Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore... If have not watched this movie, GO WATCH IT. There is a Death note movie marathon at GV too if you have not watched the first one. Oh yeah, I also heard that there will be another Death Note movie with L as the main character on roughly 2008. I think it tells you more about mysterious L.
Interesting News: I heard that there is a state in China where some schools banned Death Note because some shops there sold those death notes and many students bought them. The students wrote the names of people they hate like their teachers and bullies in the note book when they are bored. I found it quite funny cos i feel that the schools are overreacting, the note book is just a note book afterall...
Hi everyone!! I have just watched the anime, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. It is by Studio Ghibli and produced in 1984, one of their oldest films. I like studio ghibli films, cause their usually of a strange storyline and the characters usually have these special characteristics and backgrounds. (Although i dont like the fact that during some parts of their films i tend to feel sleepy)
Nausicaa is a young princess of the valley of the wind. You will notice that the princesses there are very different from those now. The princesses there help to find resources, battle and NOT stay at home all day long. Nausicaa is peace-loving, very kind and caring towards everyone (including creatures and evil princesses, lol). She is also very skilled at flying on the mehve (a flying glider, comes from the word 'seagull' in german) and at fighting (seldom uses it). She aims to defend all life on earth from destruction, kind of like Joan of Arc. This anime brings out a message of saving the environment and being kind to all others. (Animals and plants included) Thus, it is supported by the World Wildlife Fund. This anime is really nice, so i think everyone should give it a try.
These few days, i have been rushing through my homework, scared that I cant finish them all. So animes will have to wait a while... =(
Hello everyone, i still cant seem to finish my homework....but nevermind. I will do my best... Currently, i am watching the anime- MAR Marchen Awakens Romance. I dont know why its called MAR, but i think it has something to do with fairy tales, cos there are characters like Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk, not me) and Dorothy (from The Wizard of Oz). I have watched till about episode 15 and its quite nice so far. I also loved its opening. The voice is a bit special, dunno why. Maybe because sounds like man's voice also sounds like woman's voice, haha. Should give it a try.
At the same time, I also have been watching an anime called Jyu Oh Sei, which translates to 'Planet of the Beast King'. It has only 11 episodes i think, but the story develops quickly so wont bore people out. It is quite a different kind of anime compared to most of those anime that i have been watching so far. It is like sci-fi, but also like in the olden days, cos the story happens in another planet called Chimera, in 2436AD. It is a place that was 'dominated' by many vicious plants, where outcasts and criminals were sent to. Thus, it wasn't so high-tech. The main character, Thor, and his twin brother, Rai, were sent to the planet for reasons unknown to them. Sadly, Rai was eaten by a carnivorous plant not long after he arrived on the planet as he couldn't defend himself. Thor, stronger of the two, survived and aimed to find out the real reason for Odin, the prime minister of colony Juno, to kill his parents and exile him on this planet. However, the only way to leave the planet and find out the truth, was to return from being a human to being a beast (literally) and kill.
Hello everyone!! Just wanna tell you guys about everything i have been doing these few days.
Yesterday, I went out with the whole track and field team for lunch, also a farewell lunch for the sec 4s. However, I couldn't get into the spirit, cos I just didnt feel much for the sec 4s, maybe becos this is my first year? Or is it becos... nevermind. We went to eat at seoul garden, i thought it was quite suitable, cos there are a lot of meats there.(about 20 kinds) I especially liked the garlic chicken. It was fun eating with friends i rarely ate with, and the jokes we shared among ourselves were also very funny. lol.
I just finished watching The Law of Ueki yesterday night, or should i say today morning at 2am. hahaz. The ending was expected, but what appealed to me most was the fantastic storyline and the characters' powers. (some looked useless, but were indeed useful during battles and combos) All the characters also have their own unique reasons for fighting and their own backgrounds. What was constantly making me laugh throughout the anime was also its great humour, even during times when you least expect it, haha. Hence, I dunno why its so lowly-rated. Some people say that its plot is not well-put together, but i think that is what makes everything so funny. The messy things that happen in the story makes up part of the hilarious humour which i enjoy very much of. The fights in this anime is also very special as something else is usually needed, for example, ueki needs trash to create trees and sano needs cloth to change into metal. Thus, each fight is different from another, the strategy, circumstances are all unique. Its music is also very enjoyable and addictive. In the end, I feel that the message that this anime is trying to bring across is that we should always care for others, not only for yourself, as the strength of a cooperative team is always stronger than that of an indivisual. I also feel some hints of encouraging recycling in the anime, haha.
I really like ueki, cos his desire is fully to just protect his friends and family. Even in times when he can benefit a whole lot from his friends if they just sacrifice themselves, he uses all his strength to prevent it as soon as he realised it. When his friends are in danger, he will do his best to protect them from harm, and this is why he has so many true friends. However, all his friends also 'doesn't like' him for one thing. He is too selfless, only caring for everyone else but forgets about himself, even willing to sacrifice himself for others. He is obviously unaware that his friends will also be very upset if he is gone.
Okay, I will write till here for now, enjoy your life!! (I know its wierd, but who cares, lol)
