So...Im in 3T!
Thursday, November 29, 2007

Yesterday was a pretty boring day, went for training in the morning and went for a holiday tuition class in the afternoon. Parents have been nagging at me to go, so just go to make them happy and calm their mind, haha. I dont think the class is very useful, for one simple reason: the teacher isnt in the class more than 3/4 of the time!! Lol?! That doesnt make sense right, I mean we paid the full amount, how come its liddat? Almost the whole day was 'wasted' like that.

Today wasnt much better, cos theres one free day today, so I spent the morning reading two books that taught you skills on drawing manga, which I had borrowed at the library during CIP this tuesday. It was interesting, cos I learnt some things that I havent noticed before. Please note: Im still noob even though I read. Then played some game in the afternoon and fell asleep, haha. Until I woke up just before dinner. After that, I suddenly heard a shout from Jim that the class allocation is out. I thought it was a prank at first, so I told him that its only the 29th. But when I signed into MSN messager, I realised it was true and immediately went to check mine- twice. And so I got a class that I so didnt expect- 3T, because I thought that a subject combination that is so popular should be sorted out first and placed at the front. Nevertheless, Im still looking forward to finding out my classmates for the next two years and hope that we can work well together. Still cant get over the excitement of being in a whole new class, but I have a feeling that it will be a new experience and challenge for me. I guess this will be a memorable day in my life, haha.

A food journey
Monday, November 26, 2007

Today after a morning of usual CCA training(ok, not really, cos captain away, haha), Jim and I went to buy our books and a little of the uniform for next year before going home. Actually we weren't supposed to by the uniform today, but we were too excited, lol, long pants, haha. My first tryout of the uniform (was laughing becos Jim was messing around and dont know why it was so crumpled):

After a quick tryout, We changed and rushed to Ang Mo Kio to meet with Darren, Wan Jing and Wei Xuan to have lunch at the AMK Botak Jones outlet, but after two bus rides, we reached and found out that it was moving, so we couldnt eat... Stoned around to wait for Yee Shing's arrival, and went to another one of their outlets at Toa Payoh, suprisingly close to school, haha. We entered this strange industrial park-like place and ate at the cafeteria there.

My finished plate! The meat was quite juicy, and the fries were a little spicy cos it had chilli powder haha. Overall, the food was quite tasty and filling. Furthermore, it is also healthy, with salad and tomatoes! Yes I drank JJ liangteh, havent had it in a long time, used to like it.

After eating (and some bit of disaster with vinegar, haha), we tossed a coin to decide where we would go next, cos we didnt want to leave so soon. And so it was decided that we go to J8 for looking around haha. Once we were there, we couldnt resist the temptation to enter the arcade, a place I seldom go (again), but just went not long ago. We played the same game again, but this time it was more ex. Still had the same amount of fun and laughter though. Haha.

Christmas deco in J8

After all that, we walked past Haagen Dazs and *some of us* (haha) had this sudden urge of eating something again. So we pestered Wei Xuan to treat us to a chocolate fondue as an early christmas present.(part of, lol) After much talking and pro persuading, he agreed to pay for most of it, so we went in and had a 'once in a lifetime' sort of afternoon tea. (though some said they were full even before eating to spite Wei Xuan, lol) Thank You so much Wei Xuan, I hope you are not angry or anything... This was it:

And this was after we ate:

That pretty much sums up what we did today, although it wasnt too much, but we did spent some time together, and thats really fun! Tomorrow will be another day of service to the community, haha!

PSLE excitement, haha
Sunday, November 25, 2007

Today was pretty boring, woke up, went for a jog, went home, read newspapers, ate lunch at Sakae Sushi (been a long time since I ate there) and now here I am, sitting in front of the com blogging and reading a new comic that I bought! Its the book 2 of Mugen, which is a collection of comics drawn by local artists. Its quite okay, but I bought it mainly to support our local comic scene, and hope it can get better and more popular! The only problem I had is that it is continued from the first book, which I had read a few months ago, so it is a little difficult to recall the storyline for some of those series. I am still thinking of whether one of the series inside is drawn by my computer teacher at school, forgot to ask him the last time, and now it is the holidays, so I guess I just have to wait to find out huh?

Yesterday I went to my grandmother's house as usual on Saturdays, and played xbox with my cousins. We just realised that we could actually use the most powerful attacks in those fighting games, and were experimenting with all the characters. I wasnt very interested though, cos I havent been very good in using special attacks in fighting games, considering my stiff and big fingers... Jim did much bettr than me. A few days ago, 2 of my cousins just got their PSLE results, one of them seemed really satisfied while the other was not really happy with his. Wouldnt want to reveal their results in case they dont wish to, haha, but they werent too bad. I was also helping one of them with choosing their secondary schools, sharing with him my experiences and opinions, but another (older) cousin of mine just told him to look at the part where they show results for O-levels. I didnt think that that should be the way to choose schools, I thought that the other awards like character development, aesthetics, sports, whether it is value-added and the school excellence or distinction awards should be taken into consideration too. Then theres also the CCA section, cos some schools dont offer the CCAs they are interested in or good at. So, since my older cousin says that the academic results are the most important, I just decided to keep my mouth shut and leave the final decision to him. (the one with the results, hopefully) I REALLY hope that the person making the final decision is him himself, and not another person, cos I have encountered some parents or relatives making this important decision themselves! I wish everybody who took PSLE this year all the best in getting into the school(s) of their choice! The Raffles family of schools are really great though! (Sorry for the advertising, couldnt help it, haha)

Enchanting...
Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Today was quite a tiring day, partly because I went to do some community service yesterday until the late afternoon, and as soon as I got home, I had to change and everything and rush to my grandmother's house to gather before going to attended a wedding dinner yesterday night. Reached home quite late after that, and had to wake up early today for training too. After that I went home for lunch and had a short rest, then went to watch the sneak preview of 'Enchanted' with Jim at at 4pm. It was quite nice and refreshing, with both animations and live action in the same movie, just like in the movie 'Who killed Roger Rabbit'(I think). The story was about this princess-to-be living in a place called Andalasia, and was about to be married to a Prince Edward, whose stepmother was an evil queen and doesnt want the princess to snatch her place, so on the princess' wedding day (which was also the day after they first met, its a fairy tale lol), she pushed her into a world 'where there are no happily ever afters', which is our world, called reality. So she got into some situations, and is quite funny, cos the fairy tale characters are all very naive (expected, that's why most children are). Then she found herself living in a divorce lawyer's house (lol) and they sort of start liking each other. The prince, a chipmunk, the queen's servant or something and the queen herself came respectively after that. I probably shouldnt say what happened next, cos its too early. haha, but its actually quite...enchanting, that you learn something about our society and stuff, like how life can be much happier of you sing(lol), or how classic methods like giving flowers are still very much appreciated and romantic, and lets us rethink how problems can be solved or lessened just by thinking positively! I believe there are many more lessons to be learnt, but its just too many to be named. So for now, lets just 'take this tale (tail) to greater heights!' (An unsuccessful attempt to make the lines in the movie relevant to this post, lol) Tomorrow can finally rest! Hopefully

My blog should be yellow!
Monday, November 19, 2007

I just returned from training in the morning, which was like usual... but when I reached home, I immediately watched the final few episodes of Death Note, continued from like 1am today, haha. Finally finished it, all the 37 episodes within like 3days, haha. Not bad right? The ending was sad (Im a kira fan), but cant say more, dont want to spoil it for people who are lagging more than me at watching animes, haha. Guess what, after that I went back to watching Zombie-loan, and finished this anime too! But its nothing to be proud of, seriously, considering that it only has 11 episodes! O_O It just stopped abruptly, doesnt have an ending...Im thinking that its because theres a second season or something, hope it is released soon, wanna watch it! Now its back to those I've been mentioning recently, cant get enough of them!

I took this test a few days ago, and decided to post the results up now. (so it is not that I dont visit Jim's blog, its becos I dont have the time to put it up.

Your Blog Should Be Yellow

You're a cheerful, upbeat blogger who tends to make everyone laugh.
You are a great storyteller, and the first to post the latest funny link.
You're also friendly and welcoming to everyone who comments on your blog.
What Color Should Your Blog or Journal Be?

Haha, guess its quite close to the colour of my blog huh. The same warmth, you get in yellow and in brown and orange. The only thing I dont agree with is the funny links part. Yes, I do like jokes, funny stuff and stories, but I dont put links up, cos its reserved for my friends and family, haha.(might seem selfish not to share the 'funny links', but sorry...)

Clearing stuff...
Sunday, November 18, 2007

This morning, I have been forced by my parents to clear stuff in my room, lol. Cos I have already been told many times, but still no action, so today I am watched. Haha. Not finished yet, but blogging. I didnt know where to start, cos though my room is small, it is filled with all the work done this year, haha. While clearing the huge stach of files, books and random papers, I also found some interesting things and memories, haha. Like this notebook I had since I was in primary one, which I used to record all my friends names and contact numbers. I noticed something: my handwriting was horrible then, haha. (not that it is very nice now...) I couldnt make out some of the numbers, which defeats the purpose of having this notebook in the first place... But I also recalled some events that happened eight years ago, like some arguments, a party and a club, haha. It is really amazing how these things can make you remember things that happened so many years ago. I personally feel that there is also some lessons to be learnt from the past, so as to prevent tragedies from happening again. I did. Sadly, the notebook I have been talking about has to be disposed of, because of its condition and pressure from my parents...

These few days, I have also been crazily watching Death Note (the anime series), which my sister bought for me, and I hope to finish within these few days, cos I wanna go back to watching those anmes that I have been watching before this. Though I have already watched the Death Note Movie, but I am still as impressed as ever, by how anyone could have thought of this particular ting called Death Note, how it can be used and the battle of minds between Light and L. However, the openings and endings to this anime really seems like noise to me, except the first opening, which was decent enough. I am also going back to watching Bleach after Death Note, cos I have some serious catching up to do, like over thirty episodes, that I have not watched yet. I know this sounds confusing, but during the breaks for Death Note, I also went to watch a bit of Bleach and eventually reached the Vizard and Arrancar part. (not sure of the spellings) The concurrent battles between the shinigamis and the arrancars are like so exciting, with all the shinigamis losing, until they got their limit release authorisation from soul society, and completely owned the arrancars. (except Ichigo, who got owned, but this is wrong too, since Ichigo is not a full shinigami but a substitute, and doesnt have the seal to limit his powers to 20% of his original. okay, nvm haha) So bye, looking forward to training on Monday!

601 Class Gathering@Marina Square
Thursday, November 15, 2007

In case anyone was wondering, the tagboard is known as transmissions, under the grand plan, at the sidebar. Im sorry that it is so hard to notice, will see what I can do.

Okay, today was like really fun, so happy to see 601 friends that I havent seen for so long! Jim (okay i admit, i see him everyday) WeiXuan YeeShing SherYin Delwyn WanJing Cassandra ShuMin Tabitha- so nice to see all of you again! First we went for bowling, and played two games. Although I was enjoying myself, I didnt score very well, haha. (was playing Bleach Heat the Soul 4 on PSP) YeeShing was telling me how stressed he can get when bowling! Relax! Then after walking around for a while not knowing what to do next, we finally went to buy our movie tickets to The Gameplan. While waiting for the movie to begin, we went to the arcade and played briefly. Havent been to an arcade for quite a long time, so it was kinda 'new' to me, haha. I played the BishoBasho Champ game (I think thats what its called), and it was really funny! Was laughing till my stomach hurt. Hands were pain too, mashing the buttons, haha. We skipped lunch for popcorn in the movie, I know its unhealthy, but it wont hurt just for one day, haha. The movie was quite nice, with a nice mix of humour and touching story. During the movie, I was adjusting my sitting position, when I hit the popcorn box I was holding on to and it flew to the ground. Thankfully, there wasnt a lot left and not a lot spilled out. (Sorry to the cleaners...) After that, we went to kbox to sing, and I sort of wanted to get everyone to sing, so I was one of the first to sing, even though my singing isnt that good, lol. (but i dont think it worked very well, cos some still didnt really sing a lot) I was really very surprised at how some of my friends sang, they were like stars! I was a bit disappointed that some of them had to leave earlier, but I still said bye and stayed till the end, lol! That was about all we did today, short (and broke) but fun! Hope there will be more gatherings in the future, both with 601'05 and 1E'06 2E'07! Friends Forever! ever, ever, eh, eh, eh, lol!

iGoogle
Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Today was training again, gym today, we were supposed to start at 8.30am, but in the end Jim and I didnt see anyone there, and just started warm up ourselves. Found out later that they were two floors below us, stoning. They said that we had to wait for our teacher and stuff, so had to wait. We had a nice chat until about 9.15am, haha, just when we were about to go and look for our teacher, we got a call from a nice friend of our ic, saying that the teacher was already in the gym! Okay, that wasnt the point, but later at 11-plus, he asked why we were taking so long and stuff. It was quite packed then. Haha, nevermind, but if you got it, good.

When I reached home, I wanted to search for stuff, and went to the Google homepage, but saw a small link at the top right hand corner, called iGoogle. I got curious, and clicked on it. It is actually a personalised Google homepage that has many other features other than just search. It allows you to put tools you want on the otherwise empty page. Examples are: Wikipedia (yay), ChannelNewsAsia News, a calendar, Youtube, Gmail updates, weather info, CNN, Date and Time, Dictionary, business news, jokes, optical illusions, tech guide and idiot's quiz (haha), a personal ToDo list, hangman, bible verse of the day, and many others, you name it, they got it (mostly). I was really impressed by the sheer variety they had and the convenience it provides people with, whether you are a student, businessman or a housewife, iGoogle has something for you and its a pity if you dont know about it. Heres a link to iGoogle! Click Here

My first tryout on photoshop
Tuesday, November 13, 2007

Okay, so nothing happened much today, except doing work and stuff... Only at night, did I suddenly find interest in photoshop, so I sort of taught myself a little by playing around with the tools and searching online for answers to my problems. It was kinda difficult at first, but I found it fun when I started to actually make something. I started with the modifying, and came up with something like this:

Its Naruto, but seems a bit different. I know it isnt good, but its my first step aint it? So I shall continue to explore more in photoshop, and hopefully come up with something good!

My today!
Monday, November 12, 2007

Today morning I had training as usual, but today we touched on something we havent for a few months, and it was the throwing of the shotput itself, lol! So I had lotsa fun throwing and recalling what happened before, considering that we havent been doing this during training for a long time, and that you cant throw these anywhere you want, haha. But just as we were getting into the full throws and coach told us to go to the other side of the field, it started to drizzle. Drizzle-->Rain. But we were like quite dumb and stood there, thinking that CCA would stop unless it was a really big downpour. (which is what I always hear, I think...) So... you guessed it, we stood there until we found it wierd that coach was gone (somewhere dry) and we were standing drenched in the rain, so we all started running back into the shelter. Yes, we were stupid, but I thought that was quite fun and encouraging too, that all of us actually trusted coach for so long, until it was really bad. (I dont wish to mention this, but there were only four of us then... contradicting myself, but it was enough, haha). After that, we hurried into the store to keep our stuff and try to dry ourselves. Then we did some exercises indoors, which were naturally more than usual, and made the floor quite wet, haha. Really fun today.

The afternoon was spent on my homework, and in case you were wondering, I have low efficiency in doing homework (especially during holidays), so I spent the whole afternoon writing like three paragraphs for my chinese book report. Then at night, I fell in my own room. Wow. (my room was really messy) And hit my hand against the table. So it's now reddish and hurts when I move it, but its better already.

Tomorrow is a free day, and Im just gonna stay at home and do work, and play (mostly). That is pretty much my plan for tmr, but hope something interesting happens. Oh and I really want to know my subject combination (pretty much secured, considering the number of people I know taking this) and class alocation for next year fast... I chose Chem, Bio, Phy, Geog as first choice, so hope I get into a great class next year and that all of you get what you want. =)

Clean and Green School's Carnival
Saturday, November 10, 2007

Okay, I know this is a bit late and random, but I just feel like talking about the Clean and Green schools' carnival that I took part in, at the Suntec City Convention Centre, together with the whole of RI Humanities Club last Tuesday and Wednesday, just before I went on the cruise. We spent lotsa hours preparing and planning for this event, like the freebies to be given out, what to put at the exhibition, especially the green game (my favourite too), etc.

I spent more than 10hours planning for this (quite a lot considering the person is me, lol), and in the end we gave out like the 3000 bookmarks made by my teacher (I know, it was too much). some RInspire issue with our club activities in, and those limited edition RI phonecards! (everyone's favourite, haha) The first day was a long day, cos we had to meet at 8.30am and attend to all those guests like teachers, principals, students and guest-of-honour Prof Amy Khor. There were also only two chairs provided, so many of us couldnt get a seat... (taken by chair and vice chairman, duh, haha) I stood around for quite long and only managed to sit down during the lunch break. Then it was back to work again, until about 4, when I requested to go early (cos I didnt get a seat, lol). (My back still hurts even a few days after this)

The second day was more fun, cos I was a station master for the green game, a game which was played like the amazing race. Teams had to race around Suntec City, answering questions about the environment and deciphering the clues they collected to proceed to the next station. I was stationed at the food court (lol, please note that I didnt eat on duty, maybe except a light snack provided by the teacher, haha). I had this yellow tag, which was the colour code for my staion, but somehow some groups couldnt find me. My partner, Samuel, even had to go and look for some of the groups as they were lost for quite some time, lol.

I have to admit that this year's green game wasnt very well-planned, as there were some misunderstandings and miscalculations, etc. But we all worked very hard for it, and personally I was really happy when I saw all our dreams in reality.

I hope that everyone had lotsa fun at the 'carnival', and looking forward to next year's! Remember to do your part to save our environment, although it might be just a small action like using reusable bags at the supermarket, washing cars with a pail instead of a hose or switching off the lights when you leave a room, it is still valued and if everyone does it, the earth would be much healthier. Do your part to save the environment, and help spread the message!

Back from short trip
Friday, November 09, 2007

I just came back from a short trip on the Superstar Virgo. Yay, I did manage to have fun, as the last time I went on a cruise was like many years ago, so it was sorta something new for me. It was a 3D2N cruise thing (cos we were afraid of getting seasick, or bored, lol), but fortunately there were many activities going on on the ship and I went for some of them. Like the 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' thing, which you win US fake dollars, lol. The host also once accidently said Singapore dollars, but quickly changed what he said to fake dollars, lol. Jonathan (CCA vice captain and deputy head prefect) also happened to be on the same cruise, haha, so lucky. (not being sarcastic) He also took part in this game show (it was by drawing names in a box, not because he volunteered, but not that im saying he didnt volunteer himself, haha sorry for this) He got to the $64000 mark I think, then he guessed wrongly... Then a software engineer came after him and got until about the same. An Australian woman was next, and won One Million fake US dollars, cos she kept getting hints from the host, or else she would have lost early in the game, but it was a bit awkward for the host cos he kept misinterpretting what she said. (she had this accent) Jonathan didnt rely on the hosts' hints lor, so of course he is still better, haha. I also went for this interesting talk on tarot cards, lol. It was because I watched DNAngel and Risa kept reading them, that got me interested in this, haha. I got to pick a card for my studies, and I picked up the falling tower card. The lady told me that I am very hardworking, and will probably do better than average, haha. But I came home and checked, that the meaning was actually that something I believe in will change, although painful, but it is all for the new. Now Im a bit scared, but nevermind... There was also another game show called 'If The Price is Right', lol, I watched "The Price is Right' when i was young, and it was quite fun, so I decided to watch this. And I must say that it was not exactly good, but still able to bring some laughter to all of us, haha. During my stay, I also went to borrow a board game, trivial pursuit, and had some fun playing it with Jim, though we got most of them wrong and didnt finish the game, lol. I suddenly feel like talking about the feeling I got on the ship. It was like... a bit different cos if you concentrate, you can feel yourself moving little bit and there was water all around you especially if you were on deck, but I also enjoyed looking at the sea from my room, that I took some pictures of the sea in my room too, lol. I might talk more about this trip next time. Meanwhile, here are a few pics. Note that i didnt close my eyes, its just that for some reason they became smaller, its like that for all my photos, outdoors or indoors.
(sorry for the bad, or should I say no, paragraphing!)

Last day of school 2007!!
Sunday, November 04, 2007

Two days ago was the last day of school this year, but I didnt feel the same excited feeling I had the same day last year... I dont really know why, but Im guessing its becos all my classmates will be separated soon, into different classes with their own subject combinations. Im not going to focus on what happened on the last day (although it was fun too), but im focusing on these two years... Its really sad every time we get separated with our close friends... These two years in my new school, though busy, has been really happy for me, meeting lots of great people, going through tough times together... I really want to thank my class- 2E for being such an enthusiastic and lively class, always keeping me in my best form- smiling/laughing.

Two years flew past so quickly before I even noticed, how I wish I could spent more time with my friends in the same class... But on the bright side, it is when people get separated that they truly treasure being together, so I hope that we will all remember each other, keep in touch and still remain friends, when we walk past each other in the corridoors, we dont just see another stranger passing by... Let us put all our disagreements and misunderstandings behind us, and only remember, that we will be friends forever. Here, I wish to specially mention some of my closest friends: Shayne, Bryan, WenJian, Jonathan and DiaoZheng thank you all so much for being with me these two years, being behind me when I decide on something, in front of me when I so needed help, and by me all these while. I juat want to say that even if you dont think so, I have felt it and really really appreciate it. Not forgeting friends outside my class, like my CCA friends, house friends, not forgeting primary school friends, etc. I know I have been quite naggy and repetitive, but this is a must: Friends Forever!! World peace! Haha
