Feature: Back from AC

Woke up a while ago, at about 10+am, lols. Slept like a (dead) pig for 13 hours! Not doing anything except waking up to eat dinner and brush. Lol, now I feel like some useless thing. Haha. And like the title says, Im back from an ultra fun annual camp! My first camp with the 01 scouts, learnt lots. The theme was Ironman, based on the movie, but heard that many of the J1 planners themselves havent watched it, lol.

Day 1
Pretty much just camp establishment, but obviously since I havent been to camps with them, I didnt really know how to do stuff, so I just tried to do wat I can, like maybe hold up the vertical poles at the side of the kitchen tents and watch the others tie the knots until I learnt how to tie one myself, lol. It was quite a great show of teamwork among the patrols, helping each other to build the kitchen tents, since they required large manpower to build. Us, KF and Owl were helping each other, and the other three too, i think. Same for the sleeping tent, couldnt really do much, except maybe peg? Oh yes, and I sort of smashed my own leg with the mallet while pegging the kitchen tent. So, that was the sad thing, haha. And I also got a small splinter stuck in my palm, which came from a bigger splinter that I removed only the back portion of, lol. And I couldnt remove it, so over the next few days, the skin just grew back and now its still stuck in my palm, maybe I will cut it open sometime and just get rid of it, lol. But its not serious la, just...something there? I feel bad, but I dont recall much about working with my own patrol for this part since it was quite a mess, all mixed together, and I dont know them that well yet. Lunch was packed food. Then i think we worked on the gadgets and stuff, I helped with the shoerack, which proved to be quite useful for the next few days, cos they could be kept dry easily by just putting a groundsheet over, and we didnt have to keep them in so many times. The others were tying the table and dresser. The table was quite cool, cos we had an ingenius idea, and sort of weaved a net using ropes at one part of the table and we could just throw things in to store it. very convenient, haha. Then after tying some of the gadgets, Kevin and I started on the trestle frame for the gateway, which I was also still quite unused to, but luckily I did some pioneering before at open house preparation, so could handle this quite okay. The sec 1 'koalas' came in to help, hugging onto the vertical poles while we tied them- Hai Xiao, Wesley, Daryl and Zi Wei. Then dinner was packed food too, the packed food were not bad, but they were all the same...and so I didnt really like them, haha, I prefer a variety of not-so-good food to good but uninteresting ones. But what can I say, they were all talking about how this would be the last 'proper' food we will have before we are cooking from day 2 onwards, lol. The night activity was Iron Lungs (campfire songs) i think, cos got quite confused with reading other peoples' blogs and trying to figure out which is the correct order, lols. And its hard to remember cos all the nights were dark obviously...and we were all tired. So the campfire songs was okay...our singing was average, but credit must still go to Tak Wei for knowing how to sing 'Scouting Light' cos thats the song we chose and without him we would have gotten a 2 points penalty. haha. Then we learnt many other songs like the 'second storey window', lols. and 'why we cant go to heaven' which were the 2 I can remember and liked the most lols, cos you can just create something and insert it in. and the second one involved lots of suanning too, lol. Then we had the Game of Li(Fe) where we had a board game kind of thing on the ground and we had to complete tasks in order to progress. There were physical and non-physical tasks, but we could only do the physicals ones lol. Cos the non-physical ones were really very difficult like sing the scouts hymm. (again, like during the cooking race) We did okay for this one...about 4th... A lot of tying and doing stuff today, so we got a slacker night activty, lol. Then went to sleep, chose to sleep outside, cos the night was really cool and I couldnt resist the soft grass and fresh air. Slept at about 12? Counted only one star that night.

Day 2
Woke up and just ate, lol. I realised I eat more than usual at camps compared to normal days. haha. really. I ate like 6 slices of bread. We had mixed fruit jam with our bread today, haha nice. Then while the others went to continue to pioneer and play the Iron Finger (Carom Challenge), eight of us from 4 patrols signed out of camp and went to school for our SMO (Singapore Mathematical Olympiad). I was the only sec 3, there was also only one sec 1, Zi Wei also from Falcon, and the others were from sec 2. Zi Wei was quite a quiet person, but he had the look of a genius and acted like one, really. We had a nice trip back to school, which I slept most of the way... Notice that among the patrols that had people going, the average level was equal, haha. Then got back to school slightly early, and I went around borrowing stationery, cos I wasnt planning on going for this, but decided to go during camp when I saw quite a number of people going and becos our patrol was doing quite well ahead of the others at this point. Thanks a lot to those who lent me their stationery...Dominic, Yen San, Zi Xuan, Samuel and Hui Hao. (hope I didnt miss out anyone) The competition was just bomb. Couldnt answer many of the questions...was foaming during the 2.5hours, lol. Heres one easier one to let you try: "A bag contains 30 balls that are numbered 1-30. Two balls are randomly chosen from the bag. Find the probability that the sum of the two numbers is divisible by 3." Okay, then went back to Farrer Park Primary by MRT this time, but the sec 2s keep wanting to like to shopping, or purposely lag behind, etc. So it was quite hard trying to get them back... Thats just the morning. After we got back and had to return our valuables, we got back to our patrols, and Zi Wei and I were just in time for lunch lol. The lunch was great, if I remember correctly, we had potato with corn for our staple, my favourite sweet potato soup for the soup/dessert, and brocolli for the veg, i think... cant really rmb the others... Can only remember special ones lol. But the food was really delicious overall. Good job to the chefs, haha, it really brightened all of us up. After lunch and some washing, we had the annual rain, lol. It is said to happen every AC, and was one of the realy fun things I enjoyed at AC, trying to prevent the tent from falling together as a patrol, pushing the water out of the top using short poles, lol. Owl was sad, cos their kitchen tent was rather weak and collapsed quite a number of times during the rain, but help came from the other patrols and alhough they suffered, they were safe, just that the patrol members had to spent their nights in other patrol's tents becos their sleeping tent was flooded quite badly. However, the rain was really cool, it did the exact opposite of dampening our spirits, lol. It made us bond even more closely together, all of us trying to save our one big tent from collapsing in the rain. This contunued until the late afternoon, when we only managed to do some clearing up, and got packed food again. We didnt manage to cook becos of the rain. Same food again...sad. Today's night activity was Skill-O-Rama, which the patrols took turns to showcase skills they have in the different categories, and we didnt do too well for this, quite bad, but not too bad cos we were lucky that we have a capable PL which could come up with some nice stuff, haha. Hawk got first for this cos of Hiok Yang, who did many pro physical skills, and got many points lol. Today was rather okay, had fun in the rain and didnt do a lot in the afternoon. But my mind was still burnt from the competition. We got 3rd/4th for both the Carom and the Skill-O-Rama, but got 1st for cooking today! Slept outside again, and counted 2 stars, lols.

Day 3
Woke up earlier today for the annual cross-country in AC. Didnt have breakfast, only had it after the run. =( But still, I think it was really fun, running about the area and seeing lots of stuff. The worst part was near the temporary Tekka market, where the whole place just smelt of raw meat, lol. Falcon did well for this, especially the sec 1s, who surprised us by getting a few of the top positions. Well, I did well too, guess the jogging paid off...lol. Falcon got 1st for this and placed a joker on this, getting double the points, lols. Then we had breakfast, which was bread and marmalade, but changed to kaya. Then was the Sports (Fe)sta (supposed to be Fiesta) which we did really bad in, lost all our matches haha. Guess we cant play as hard as we work, lol. Jack is a dull boy? lol. But I did enjoy the games, like ultimate frisbee and basketball. Lol, I slipped and fell in basketball and wetted my pants. Because of the rain...what were you thinking? lols. Anyway, the annual rain came again, and this time, though smaller, we had much more fun. I learnt the techniques of controlling the rainon top of the tent and using them to wet anyone entering or exiting, lols. I know its bad, but its fun to see people getting shocked and drenched, lol. Im sure the others will agree with me on this, lol. Had a lot of fun, really a lot. We even threw a tennis ball around, from patrol to patrol, in the rain. This rain was even better than the last, haha. More fun then then the last. Then we had dinner, which was rather horrible compared to the past meals we cooked. Like we had apples marinated in pepsi and green tea, and curry with sago!! Guess they have run out of ideas? lols. The night activity was Stupid Quiz. Haha really funny. I didnt imagaine it to be this fun, cos the first question was misleading. Explain why the marathon is 21.195km long. But then we also got things like: 'What is referred to as 'the dood' in the J1 room?', 'What the written behind the door of the J1 room?', 'Who is Dick Assman?', 'What is the 185th pokemon?', and lots of more hillarious questions, lol, very fun. Then was fright night, lols quite fun, but some parts are boring too... Started by saying they want to reward us by showing us a movie. They showed us Chicken Little. And I actually believed them. But after like a few minutes, they said there was a technical error and then they were trying to fix it, while Mr Oja told us a story about physical selves and spiritual selves, lols. At this point, I was still 'naive and innocent' lols. Thinking that Mr Oja couldnt think of any other things to tell us, so he picked this ghost-story-like thing. But then I finally got it when the technical fault was fixed. The movie now shown was The Victim, lols, a thai horror movie, which wasnt really that horrible. I watched until the part where they showed a headless woman, when Yi Ming and I were called outside and told to blindfold ourselves. (We were the first pair, haha) It was fright night. So we did, and then we had to hold on to the raffia and walk. Dunno whether it was planned to be like that, but I had to climb over many things and even banged my head into some board at least 3 times, making a lot of noise. We also passed through some trees and so ants were like crawling all over us. I thought that they were really pro to even have ants planted on us, but found out later that it was unplanned...woa unlucky...and I got many bites... I felt that the most scary was the part where the raffia led us into a toilet cubicle, and then the door was shut loudly behind us. Haha, I was like dam random and said 'ouch' there, lols. After that we heard wrongly and proceeded back into the activity room to watch the movie, but then a while later JunJie asked us to go out and continue with the walk. Now not blindfolded, and so this time we could spot many of the J1s and could make better decisions, like going to mess with the J1s, haha. Then the last part was a toilet which we were asked to enter, and led into a cubicle again, tied to the toilet bowl, but this time no one was there asking us to do anything, and when we turned around we saw another raffia, so we just followed it and exited...when there were actually more 'fright stations' inside which we missed, like the hanged bear and a wet treatment... Then when we finished, Ben Hong just appeared from beside us and asked us to sit somewhere at the canteen. So we sat there and waited...and waited...and waited...for a really really long time...until we started seeing people appear from where we came from, and asked to sit somewhere else...and I noticed that theirs was different from ours, theirs was blindfolded all the way, but ours was just half. And PLs had to go on the trail alone, lols. Then we were all tired and just plonked...and slept. Couldnt count the number tonight...too many.

Day 4
Today was also HaiXiao's birthday! So we gave him some time off and less work to do, lol. He deserved it. We also bought him some moralisers to celebrate. (like root beer and mentos) The morning was as usual, but since the campsite and gateway grading was in the afternoon, we were all busy fixing and making the gateway and gadgets more secure. Some of us were still trying to fix up the pulley system which will open the door when you pull it. Since that was a last minute plan though up within 90 minutes of the judging it wasnt too bad, lol, but it still didnt work very well. But it was alright...we got 2nd for both pioneering and campsite, haha. Then after that was the preparation for Parents' Night, and we all had to cook a dish for our parents. Falcon was chosen to cook the shrimp paste chicken we cooked yesterday. And so we bought many packs of chicken and cooked them. I marinated the chicken, and so I got a really 'nice' smell of shrimp paste and raw chicken on my hands even later at night. But it was fun to cook with friends, lol. We all had fun making jokes and laughing at each other, haha. But soon it was time and I changed into my scout uniform to usher the parents, lol. But in the end I only brought my own around, lol. We talked and then I brought them to the activity room for the talk, where Wesley was. I then went back to the Kitchen tent, and saw Kevin and HaiXiao still there cooking...pity them, cos they looked very sweaty and oily when they had just bathed, while I feel so nice. So helped them a little, by holding the light...lol. Then we placed the food at the table and waited for the parents. Saw some of my friends' parents and siblings too, and even had a nice chat over dinner with Rong Jun's, haha. Then after that was the announcement of last year's patrol standings, and everyone except the sec 1s were really hyped. They even had a watermelon eating competition, lol. Then we had another washing up session, which was tiring, cos we had to scratch off the soot stuck on the pans and woks at the sink. And my back ached after that, from all the bending over... Festival of Lights was next, and all the patrols had to put up a show of lights at their structures. We got third I think, it was a pretty interesting thing...looking at the structure which was decorated with lights. Some patrols did not do as well due to their safety, like some were burning other stuff, i think... Then we had a batch talk about our batch dynamics, becos they noticed some things happening...and so that was my first (F[e)ar] session. We also talked about some very meaningful things like what we want to achieve by the end of the year and for those who have joined for longer periods of time, what they have learnt or gotten better in, since they joined 01. Then was the backstabbing session, which many PLs were reluctant to participate in, and were lucky, since there was an option to not backstab anyone this time round. Some still did, but many didnt. I think thats what changed the political situation at that point in time... Then after that we returned and untied the dresser, the dustbin didnt need untying, lols, and then didnt untie the rest cos we still needed them, like the table and the shoerack. Counted about 4 stars tonight.

Day 5
Had a leg cramp in the night...probably because of the cold night...so woke up with pain in the calves. But it got better later, as we untied the stuff, like table and the gateway...the kitchen tent too, with some help from KF. And so we ended up clearing everything the first haha. Then had to tie the poles into bundles, like on Day 0. Then after we did some work, we changed into our scout uniform for the last flag break. And the announcement of the results. After 5 days of hard work, Falcon got 1st! Followed by Hawk, KF, Eagle, Kestral, Owl. Then we continued to move the poles and stuff onto the lorry, then proceeded to Braddell Westlake, using Sarun's 'shortest route', lols, to move the poles into the poleshed...while suanning Francis...lik(yee) th(yee)s.

Since Im not the photographer or anything, only have pics from Parents' Night =(, but here they are:
Jim and I at Falcon's campsite, can see hardworking people cooking behind too...

The food!

AC- Day 0

Today has been quite fun, woke up early in the morning and went to school, where I was supposed to meet Kenneth, but met the other scouts first and left with them for Braddell west lake, lol. But I did tell Kenneth and in the end he reached before us, lol. Then we loaded the stuff, mostly poles, from the shed onto a huge lorry. But when we tried to close the metal grill door of the shed, the bottom of the door went out of the groove and we couldnt close it, even after trying for a while. But the driver was us stuck and went to help us, using a pole as a lever to push the door up and then pushing it back in. And he did it, single-handedly. Lols, we were all surprised and were like laughing, applauding and...in awe. Us, a large group of young men, spent about 10 minutes doing something, and was unsuccessful at it. But he, much older than us, did everything under 3 minutes by himself, lol.

Then was the really fun ride we got, back to school. He allowed us to sit behind, with the stuff at the back of the lorry, haha, and it was really fun! With the wind blowing, and the fresh air... We even waved to people along the way haha. And, we got up and down the lorry using a kind of elevator machine at the back of the lorry. It could carry all of us- about 15 people- up the lorry in one go, haha. We didnt even have to climb up.

Then at school we gathered everything then loaded again, and took buses to our campsite, Farrer Park Primary School, then ate lunch at the nearby temporary tekka market and food centre. Then went back to the school, unload and set up the rough campsite. Today was all about these things. It might sound boring, but it is definitely not when there are so many fun and nice people around, haha!

Some others see AC as something troublesome and boring, but to me it is an avenue to escape from work, have some fun activities, and get to know my fellow CCA mates further, haha. I really hope for the best for Falcon during the AC, that we will have lots of fun there, and that I will be able to keep up! =)

The last day of semester...
Saturday, May 24, 2008

is usually a happy occasion, just spoilt by the huge amount of work that suddenly appears throughout the day. It was unfortunate, but I gave out the Geog PT on Cyclone Nargis during recess. Mr Koh appeared too and gave out the CLE PT, got the Physics PT after the practical test today, got our English ERP 2 and got reminded of our social advocacy project for english, etc. So many examples to give...meaning so much more work for us.

SS was fun today, we watched a documentary on democracy, using the example of a class monitor election in a primary school in Wuhan, China. The candidates were really quite smart in their strategies, especially ChengCheng, the boy who was pro at using underhand means, lol. The only girl, Xiaofei, was the only one not resorting to these methods, but proved to be the most ineffective in her campaign. LuoLei, the boy whom I supported, won the elections, which I believe was because of the 'goodies' he gave to the class right before the elections lol, and since the young children couldnt judge very well, they gave their votes to him. Haha a very funny and interesting documentary.

Anyway, after school today Alvin, Teng Chuan and I went to build our chemical car for tomorrow's competition. First we pieced everything together, then we tested with the chemicals. But it wasnt so successful, because the chemicals would just flow out of the bottle and not generate enough force to push the car. Then Teng Chuan needed to leave for a while, so I took this chance and went for scouts AC prep again. Painted the banner, helped a little with the gadgets and the boards, then Kenneth decided to go buy tecko and so we were dismissed. Nothing too much today, then went back to chem lab. It really stank at that time lol. The smell of vinegar and more. lol. Then Mr Koh came and assisted us, that was when we progressed the most, haha. Really thank Mr Koh, for staying and helping us, keep the lab open, creating chemicals for us to use, helping to clean up, lol, etc. Would have nominated him for the Caring Teacher Award if he had more experience lol. And then we changed our car structure quite a few times, and modiffied the amounts of chemicals to be used. Finally at about 6+pm, we managed to reach the minimum distance required to qualify in the competition. Then we worked on it further, to determine how we can correct some mistakes like overturning and going off the path. And left at about 7.15 in the end. Wanted to go for dinner, but some of us cant, so just went home with Alvin.

Tomorrow's our competition, and hope we can do well and claim the top prizes! haha. Wishing for good luck now... Oh and it starts at 8 in the morning, so better get some rest now, and also for the AC prep on Sunday and the reat thing on Monday!! =)

AC prep session 3
Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Got back home rather late just now feeling wierd and sticky and hot because of the paint and the turpentine all over me, lol. Today's prep was quite screwed cos a few of us, including me, messed up. And caused quite some trouble... Now I smell of turpentine and have paint on some parts of me.

Before that Jim and I were surveying during the RE session and I felt really sad cos we spent like an hour plus there, but only got a pathetic <10 surveys. That was pro, break record. People were really hard to approach and they thought I was trying to make them donate or buy something, which they dont like. Some also dont like to be disturbed and gave me really cold remarks, while I was trying my best to smile at them. Like, "Go away." "Not interested." Just 2 words like this. Pierced like needles. At least if they said, "Im sorry, im not interested", I would feel better... But when you are just asking for something, I guess you cant expect much from them. Okay, but of course there were some friendly people which I approached, like this lady who directly told me her age when I only asked for her approx. age lol. Although she couldnt understand english very well, and I was translating it into simpler terms for her, she seemed to me to be the most genuine in wanting to help with the survey. And I am deeply grateful to her!

And before RE, during maths lesson, Mrs Lim painted some peoples' fingernails. lol.

Now for my at least half-filled, busy, June holidays! Ok, that sums it all...camp will be the whole of the first week, so no blog...Then second week will be RE chionging cos its due end second week of holidays. The rest will be for homework and projects? Wanna go out sometime? haha.

Oh and the chem car competition is this saturday! and our group hasnt built the car yet! wow.

this sunday and after will be camp!

Tmr is another day...with philo test, but im not mugging until tmr. Want to sleep now. Good night. Im tired.

Vesak Day (not a ve-ry suk day)
Monday, May 19, 2008

Haha, today was like an extra sunday to me. Firstly, I dont really understand why vesak day is a public holiday, but its still good...lol. So without any understanding obviously i wouldnt know of any celebration, and so its like an extra off day! So today morning, reluctantly went for a jog when Jim sort of dragged me up, haha, cos it was quite glaring and hot outside. Then rested and then went to grandmother's house for lunch, like usual. But this time most of my relatives came too, so the adults talked, while we sat on the sofa stoning for some time, then decided to play psp, half asleep. Went back home, slept, lols. Im becoming like a pig, need to sleep so frequently. Lols still need to do geog ws, havent done yet. I also plan to watch some videos later, so expect to sleep late again. This time i dont blame the school, lol. Tmr's just a mess again, so many things going on at the same time, now I know why people need assistants and secretaries, lol. Hope it goes well...

The sunday is great
Sunday, May 18, 2008

lols, that pretty much tells how much i appreciated this sunday and also...the monday tomorrow! (although im not too sure yet of course) But it just feels great to have another holiday, or in my case now, just to even know about it! Today was rest day, and so quite 'wasted' cos I didnt actually do anything except a little bit of homework and maybe some discussion about when to meet for the SS project due next week. Now im also starting to worry about the chemical car competition, due next saturday, how do we do all the testing and planning when we still have so many projects? I wonder... Okay i shall not write about the horrible projects the school still gives us even though its the end of the exams on such a fine day. And oh yes, speaking of the exams, I think I've gotten back everything, and feel that I have done quite well for my standards this time round. Of course there is still room for much improvement! especially so in certain subjects...

*Some ranting* I just dislike projects, cos they give you so much pressure, constantly, over a long period of time. When i think carefully, major exams actually constitutes a larger portion of the marks, but i dont think they give me as much pressure as a long project. Long projects or projects spanned over the whole year are just cheapskate. teachers just have to write the outline of the project and the requirements, and we do it. for the whole year. For example, the chinese project, the social advocacy project to some extent, the english blog assignments. They are just really unfair. Short projects, are also almost as bad, because they are just uncaring and shoved into your face and teachers expect them to be done in a short time, when we have other commitments. Like the SS project we are doing now? We didnt even get a reasonable duration to do it...

And everytime I face a huge load, I ask myself if I should be getting some rest and not take on more the next time. But then I would also ask myself if thats the right attitude to doing things...should I be depriving myself of a possible chance to learn and experience? I dont know if I will regret it in the future if I do not do as much as I should/can. Or are all these things meant to stretch my limits? Like maybe the 2.4km for napfa, I faced the same problem even when running. Should I be running faster? thats the question I ask myself while running. I face the possibility of getting tired out if I run too fast at the beginning, but if I am able to complete it at a faster pace but dont, I would really regret not doing it. I mean, I really dont know, kind of a dilemma here. Frequently face problems like this...to do or not to do...

But to end off on a positive note, I will still try my best to enjoy this sunday night, which we usually dont get to, in the midst of doing work...

RI Open House 2008

So today I woke up in the morning at about 6.45am, still feeling worried as to what to wear today, but decided in the end to just wear school uniform. Nothing can go wrong in it right... Then reached school at about 7.40am, a bit too early, so walked around looking at stuff...until about 8, when I saw more people and began to set up the 01 booth. Quite some things, but i must admit that not a lot of people went through our booth, looking at our stuff...except maybe the marshmellow stand, where I was, giving out marshmellows to visitors and hopefully somehow they will visit our booth. Ways to achieve this:
1. Give them the chance to roast their own marshmellows and hope they get interested enough to visit our booth further
2. Tell them that we will roast the marshmellow for them, and suggest they take a walk around our booth, while we roast it, and it will be ready when they are done.
3. Tell the kids that if they want free flow of marshmellows, join RI and 01. (which is really fake, lol)

So, other than the fire, some kids who just cant get enough, and sadly rejecting any rafflesians from koping the marshmellows due to lack of stock, my job was rather simple. And I somehow did enjoy it and had some fun, so couldnt bear to leave in the end...

Then went to emulsify banners at third floor atrium with Falcon, Owl and KF, but we didnt actually emulsify them, cos right after we laid the cloth down, an uncle came up to us and said we could paint there. Then Kenneth called Mr Yuen while we we stoning there...but we got some chalk in the end and frew our designs first. Ours was quite random, lol. Then because we couldnt do anything more, we went for lunch at canteen where we faced some difficulties in communicating with the noodle stall uncle, cos Ming E was trying to say he wanted two bowls, but the uncle for some reason, couldnt understand him, so I helped and said the same thing, then he thought we both wanted two bowls and gave us four bowls...long story, anyway it was complicated and took some time, too much for me to write here lol. But the noodles were really quite cheap.

Then after eating I rushed for tuition, suddenly decided to go for it. And arrived there about halfway into the lesson, but the teacher was quite nice and didnt mind, and didnt charge me for that lesson, lol. Learnt some logarithm again, and some linear law, which we are going to learn next in school. Quite sad that we still need to draw graphs for the next topic...

Then later at night at my grandmother's house, my cousins were playing table tennis halfway when they suddenly asked me to 'repair' the net for them, cos they knew that I have just joined scouts, haha. The strings securing the net was really screwed, entangled, frayed, not doing their jobs and everything. So I went to spend some time on the net and used some simple hitches and thumb knots to tie the strings back and make the net taut. haha, felt a great sense of satisfaction suddenly, in joining scouts and learning everything so far, especially knots, which I have always felt isnt that useful in our daily life. Haha feel so happy after that incident, that I had actually managed to solve an authentic problem with skills I have learnt recently. =D

Lots of homework and projects to be done...when can I finally get the load off my back??

Today we did the open house preparation for tomorrow, and built a gateway. Looks nice! My first piece of work? haha. The building was fun (meaning the verb), tying all the lashings and then turning the whole structure together...haha. Only left at about 7.30, so when I got home and ate, and everything, I fell asleep after that and woke up at...12?! Now Im angsting cos Im lost for tomorrow...dunno all the things. Omg why did i fall asleep... What do I do, what do I wear, what do I say, what time do I go...have some of the info, but they arent very clear... So hope for the best...and that I will be lucky. Im worried! but I need to make a decision before sleeping...omg im stressed again...=(

I wanna take a break
Thursday, May 15, 2008

Physics was first period today, and after the Mr Wong incident, where Mrs Tay was a bit traumatised by what Mr wong has left her (ok, not just a bit), she has gone a little back to normal, but still really sensitive. Could see that our class has already put in a lot of effort not to mention the person, so was quite happy for her and us- lessons not interrupted AND today's lesson was one of those which I actually understand on the first go, yay. Did I mention that I suck at physics? lol.

Then Chem, find the mole concept quite fun, cos its more lke maths lol. So quite enjoy doing it. All the molecular formula to chemical equation to mole to mass to no. of particles to volume in air to % purity to % yield...haha many things but not too complicated once you get them. Doing the assignment for this topic now.

Then PE, played soccer with the class, and was defender again. A noob one. And pretty much had simply fun, comes with no sides. (academic stuff) Recess, drank then sat on the field watching them play soccer. Then sun was quite hot and glaring, and for some reason I sat up very straight and frowned, while holding my uniform. Was in a wierd position, and they said I was meditating. Fortunately they went back early. but not surprising, cos the next period was maths with Mrs Lim, haha.

Maths was...as usual, learning about logarithms, plus today we learnt about exponential and logarithmic graphs, which was complicated. but its optional. SS got back CCT, and I did, well, okay i guess. I was expecting something more lor...I really mugged for that, but yes, its okay.

Then ate lunch, and actually wanted to do our SS project, but after knowing that its due next week and becos all of us are busy in some way, we decided to postpone the meeting. Was in the library while waiting for Francis to finish his maths lesson and completely forgot about the soccer match with Mr Cheng (sorry!). And out of randomness, i picked up a book I thought would be interesting to look at, on globalisation.(also related to the talk on global citizens yesterday, lol) Its such a big topic, but I find it interesting lol. So borrowed it. Then I went with Kenneth, Hiok Yang, Francis and Zhong Jun, to go buy the banner cloth we need for AC. Lols, went to Arab Street, missed many many buses and MRTs on the way, y... But the journey was still fun, lols all the jokes and games. And for some reason someone got a bit deaf and couldnt hear whatever I was saying until I shouted, lols. I know you r trying to help me with my voice, haha, but its straining for me to shout everything I say...=(

And while we were there, I just let them do their job and they were telling the owner what they need and the price liddat. The worse was the who-pay-what part. Really complicated. Kenneth paid a lot more than what he should, then some people never bring enough so borrow, then some eager to get back $1.20, then some was looking for someone to pay him his 30 cents and some were holding onto the change but nobody knew... complicated. Hiok Yang was trying to hug people cos his shirt was...a bit the stink, lols. Then we went to Bugis MRT, where I met up with my mum, and we went home! Sorry I couldnt accompany you guys...

Tomorrow will also be a busy day cos there are like 3 things happening simultaneously that I have to attend. Im torn between them.
Climate Change Ambassador's launch- No news from teacher yet even after my email, so dont think I will go.
Chemical Car Competition preparation- Not too urgent, so most probably not this.
Humanities Club meeting- Can Jim go in my place?
Scouts AC/OH preparation- So, this!

treasure the chance
Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Haha feel quite good now...as im eating my ice-cream and blogging, without any worries of homework. I cant believe im saying this, but (i think) there isnt any homework today! yay. but that doesnt mean I get to rest and relax, still have projects...the most pressing one would be the SS and English blog project, which we have to write on democracy for...

Yesterday was rather okay, Jim had some short track training, so I went to the library to do some homework while waiting for Teng Chuan to do his Geofile ws too. Did a chemistry mole concept ws, and nearly fell asleep halfway, so went out to the field for a walk, lol. And there we met Jim, who was with Jian Wei, and then I went to buy a pencil, because someone in class took it and didnt want to return it to me, how lame. And he was acting as if he was right, saying that i should thank him for 'safekeeping' the pencil for me, yeah right... And then went to den to find the sec 3s. After sitting there for a while, reading. They were beginning to shout, lols. And Hiok Yang decided to go, lols. And went outside, where he played soccer and injured his knee. He really injures himself a bit too frequently... then Jim and i went home, slightly earlier than normal, lol.

Then at home, wasnt doing homework cos everyone was doing the homework which I did until 3 am yesterday morning or in school, lols. So was only left with very little homework yesterday and spent most of the rest of the time doing RE, which we presented to our NUS mentor today.

Then today, we had an Ambassadors Series talk, which was rather interesting, yes oddly some parts were, but I was just too tired to listen, and keep falling asleep somewhere in the middle, waking up when the prefect was near, lol. Sat beside Han Kit and Alvin, and Alvin was trying to hit Han Kit's leg cause it was a bit injured, lol. Then sometime after, we had a free maths lesson. Haha, quite funny, cos yesterday someone told Mrs Lim to make the maths period today a free period, and it really is haha. Mr Lai, the maths teacher, came into our class and told us to complete an assignment on logarithms. It took about 20mins for us to do, and I was playing worms on Hiok Yang's phone while doing maths, lol.

RE lesson, witnessed some scary stuff happening with the other RE group...anyway,
got the permission slip to leave school early for RE period, so ate lunch then headed for NUS again, so far... Met Dr Neo , and he gave us lots of suggestions today, as usual, and said we were rather on track, compared to his other group. That was the best thing he said today! Its comforting to hear that you are on track, when you have spent so much time on the project...really good. So feel more relaxed now, but he also mentioned the need to go straight into the next part of our project, if we dont want to rush for the rest of the time before the deadline in June. Though I was worrying a little, because of the camp.

Realised I sometimes sleep quite late, which is really bad... sometimes at 2 or 3 am... But I dont know what to do...I do work too slowly...maybe its becos I cant withstand the temptation of msn messenger, blogs, etc? maybe theres just too much work? maybe I shouldnt be doing everything the teacher asks to do? maybe Im doing fine now? maybe its natural to sleep late for someone like me? But I think its bad for health, not too sure about studies, lol. I mean, you spend more time for studying...isnt that good? Nevermind, should start with my RE now, dont want to keep the mentor waiting...

Anyway heres a cool pic Hiok Yang took some time ago, haha, really nice, thanks!

Spot the difference!
Tuesday, May 13, 2008

I probably shouldnt be doing this, but I am. Okay, so today has been rather okay at school, nothing much really happened, except ran 2.4km for napfa and achieved my goal, so was quite happy, haha. Then after school was Annual Camp preparation, was revising some knots and designing the 'furniture' lols. Some of ours are really good, but tedious to make...

Im still left with...lets see...2 maths ws, a chem ws and a geofile I have been chasing! I am so dying... disappointed, I thought the end of CCTs would mean some more rest time. but the amount I got is...almost disgusting. No difference...Still sleeping at the same time, still got lots to do tomorrow...and suddenly something called attendance sheet popped up for RE and Mrs Chee said that leaders are to submit the attendance of the group members for the whole of the first semester to her by wednesday! How am I supposed to remember so many dates...

ok, better return to my work, and lately I have noticed more and more people emoing...wonder whats going on...

Orienteering...
Sunday, May 11, 2008

Im dam lag compared to the others, but here i am writing about all that has happened yesterday, haha, a really fun day. So, woke up in the morning at 6+, when jim woke up to go to school for PTM, but realised that I dont have to, when walking out of room, and ran back to bed again. lol. Then woke up again, later at about 7.20am. And got ready for orienteering! Lols time quite well and reached there a while before the horseshoe was called. Everyone was looking quite awake already, while I was still halfway in dreamland haha. Every patrol, except Hawk, lol, got decent maps. Hawk got a map where punggol was an empty field lols.

Thanks to help from Tak Wei, Falcon plotted that checkpoints really fast and so we got to leave the start point one of the first. Okay, my memory is very bad, so can only remember the rough order of checkpoints. The first one was near a mosque and the clue was quite hard to find, and we spent about 10 minutes looking for it. In the end it was a code on a label on a power box thing, which was like only 10% visible when left untouched. Just as we were about to take the photo and leave, we saw Owl on the overhead bridge close to us, lol. And so they saw us take the picture and saved quite some time, haha.

While waiting for the traffic light to turn green, they caught up with us and we were fated to be going for the checkpoints in the same order, lol. And being competitive, we cant wait to separate ourselves, and so we did, and somewhere we went our own ways. We eventually reached an area close to Kenneth's home, and so he knew the way around and took us to the next checkpoint without difficulty. We passed by the old rosyth campus on the way and memories returned...fond memories of the rosyth and parry campus. Okay, there, somehow, we met Owl again at a T crossroad. we were coming in from one side and they were coming in from another, both heading towards the third. Lols, we couldnt believe that they could be so fast... But, because they were in front, they did not see us take another side path to the cemetary lols.

It was actually quite a nice place, and I even used the toilet there lols. I loved the Japanese-style small building there. Then time was spent looking for the exact place we needed to take a picture at, and again Owl caught up and saved time from seeing us, lols.

Then went out of the area and towards Hougang point. Close to where Darren used to live, and that was the third checkpoint. Rather easy one, so left quite quickly. But by the time we were there, could see that the sec 1s were looking tired already and Haixiao even needed water cos he didnt bring his. but we thought we could buy anything during the activity, so we left, while kenneth was asking the J1s. It turned out that we could, so Kenneth ran back to buy a bottle for Haixiao while the rest of us rested at a bus stop. Talked to some J1s there, haha and took a close look at the Silva Range compass I have been studying for the test. Then we left again after Kenneth came back. But nice work Kenneth, running all the way...haha

Then the next was a place quite out of the route, and so some patrols didnt go for it. Its a playground close to the area near the current Rosyth school, at Serangoon North. We were contemplating which way to turn, looking at the long barrier. But in the end, we took a safer way, and it turned out to be ok! Owl was ahead of us for this checkpoint, haha. While turning back the way we went, we saw Kestral (I think) walking towards the checkpoint on the other side of the road haha.

The next checkpoint was Punggol Park, an area which was quite familliar to me, since i live near there and used to go there when I was young haha. So was quite confident on the route and just walked there, though I do admit I wasnt very sure about some parts of the route and was thinking that there might be a shorter way. But its ok, we were fast on this one, and reached punggol park before Owl haha and Tak Wei found the green box. And the same thing happened yet, when Owl saw us talking the photo. lols

Then chionged into the next checkpoint, which to me, was the longest distance between 2 checkpoints that we travelled, all the way to some place which was rather ulu. It was a pavillion next to a field and a condo, but still quite middle-of-nowhere. As we were moving off, we got stuck at a traffic light together with about 3 other patrols lol. But after we crossed, Falcon was the only patrol which bravely bashed through, and we did it almost perfectly, lols and got to the next checkpoint much faster than the others. But we were looking aroung for a big pawan...didnt know what it was and just took some random pictures, but we werent sure, so hanged around looking. We even saw a malay turn around looking at us when he heard us say pawan, but he didnt say anything... So we looked...until we saw other patrols running in together and taking pictures with the whale (or the bones). We were asking what pawan was, and finaly got our answer. So we raced, together with the other patrols, towards compasspoint. It was quite horrible lols, so many people running and crashing into the MRT station, then looking for a way to get down to the first floor. Haha, so in the end we lost out a little but here and wasnt exactly the first few to reach.

Found out that KF reached 15 minutes before the rest of us, woa... Hope we can one of the first! Anyway, after a short debrief, we all went for patrol lunch! Ours was at Mac's, very crowded, but had a really fun time talking about stuff and waiting for the queue to shorten. Many people were sharing the coupons Wesley brought, haha. I chose McFlurry as the free side, lols, cos I needed a dessert haha. Had a nice day with Falcon: Kenneth, Tak Wei, Ming E, Haixiao, Wesley, Zi Wei and Daryl! (hope I got them right...) After the fun slack lunch, the sec 3s and one sec 2 left for a lanning session!

Haha, so we chose a bus which takes a long way to go to AMK so that we can rest and play on the bus, lol. Hiok Yang, Francis, Alvin and I played worms, haha. Which Hiok Yang was winning when we were about to get down and decided to pause it, lols. The others, Anurak, Kenneth, Ming E, Sup, Amos, Jon Ed and Zhong Jun were playing random stuff like finger games or listening to music or drawing lol. Then got down and walked up a smelly staircase...and Hiok Yang asked me to look at the wall, but I couldnt see anything. Wat?

Then walked in. That was probably only my...3rd or 4th time going lan so didnt expect it to be like that. Okay, then we played...and I completely suck. I was the worse there and bought wierd items and didnt know the right time to use skills lol. And Alvin who claimed to be bad, was so much proer then me la...haha. Shall get better next time! I used: Luna, Faceless Void then Pugna. Havent used them before actually, lols, but still liked them, haha. Then we all went off because some were saying that their parents were asking them to get home, and I had too too, so...we went home. Took 13 with many people: Amos, Anurak, Hiok Yang, Alvin, Sup and Zhong Jun. Haha, very fun to sit all around those kind of seats and discuss about stuff, lols.

Really sad, cos that unreliable camera of mine just died as I was about to take my first photo! So no photos, omg. This extremely fun-filled day but no photos. I mental wreck lol.

Anyway, after I got home, just stepped into home, my father was asking me to get my stuff and clothes to go to my grandmother's house right away. That's like so anxious. And after I got there and bathed, all I did was eat and sit on the chair and watch TV while the others, including Jim, were playing games...haha tired, thats all. So I watched the show 聊斋, the 宦娘 story. You might have heard of it if you read the book for the chinese test last time, lol. I didnt. But the story was quite interesting and touching, like they love each other, but were separated at first by their backgrounds, then something happened, and they were running, then they decided to die together, but only the wife died. Thats like sad, right? Then got home, and...fell asleep? So didnt blog yesterday.

Today is Mother's Day, I our family had to go to our grandmother's house again, cos she was like the mother all of all of us, something like that. Then all the families brought food, and we all share the food. Thats our tradition. So, we ate, then played with cousins, like yesterday, then all of them left, except me, to watch Ironman, which I have watched. While I went home to do homework, lols. Did some physics and now im going to do geog. Then I really want to play and relax. Okay, thats about all so far!

Next week will be a little busy too, with NUS mentor visit on Wednesday and Climate Change Ambassador Launch on Friday. Hope I wont miss too much...

End of long post haha.

Ironman/ Gold plated titanium (...) man
Friday, May 09, 2008

Today is the last day for the NIE trainee teachers teaching us, and so Mr Cheng gave us some chocolates, while Mr Wong prepared a concert for us after school. His singing is quite good, so much so that he and his friends are singing at a cafe on the first monday of the June holidays, but I wont be able to watch because of 01 annual camp, looking forward to it!

Then went to watch Ironman with the other 01 sec 3s at J8, quite a nice show. Its mainly about how this guy became Ironman, and his suit was really cool, all the functions and gadgets, and the red and gold colour lol. The guy is a genious weapons maker, who caused deaths and stuff, but after some events, he wanted to save the world instead, so he became ironman. roughly like that. Oh and btw my favourite character is actually Pepper Potts, Ironman's assistant. Dont know why, but just feels that shes a very nice person. (lols, was praying that she didnt die in the movie, cos she was going to) The movie was nice, and I had fun! Took same bus as Amos, Anurak, Hiok Yang, Alvin Chua and Ryan Goh home. lols, so many.

Then just played a game of dota with Kenneth, Amos, Anurak and Francis, to have a practice, cos we might be playing tomorrow! With more people! Haha, havent played it in ages, we lost to Kenneth and Amos even though its 3 v 2. wow. Just sad that more people couldnt join us.

Heard that the chinese projects werent well done and the teacher might reject some and ask to redo...why did they set the deadline just after the CCTS..

K, anyway, tmr will be the 01 annual orienteering session! and hope to have lots of fun!

still sick...
Thursday, May 08, 2008

Kaes, so I have been sick for the past few days, blocked nose/coughing, etc., and Teng Chuan has been making fun of how I blow my nose in class...lol. And sometimes I need to take in a large breath of air suddenly, dunno why. but at least the condition hasnt gotten any worse since it started...

Today was alright, didnt get any results today, but had 3 periods of Mr Koh's lessons. Chem+CLE+floating period. He took the floating period for chem too. thanks. haha. Cle we learnt about managing conflicts, and Mr Koh said hes the shark kind, who must make the other party agree to all his terms, and there must be one loser and one winner. The whole class agrees, not surprisingly- "I dont care, you just...", "Chem remedial all must come!", haha. Biology was fun too, we talked about all kinds of stuff in class, related to fats proteins and carbohydrates. Eg. calculate how 'energetic' someone was in Joules, by pressing all the energy values into our calculator, and assuming the person is made up of fats only, lol. But as we discussed, Alvin kept saying sick stuff, until Mrs Lim said that its getting crude. It was a fun lesson, haha. Learnt lots and laughed lots.

After school, went to eat and was thinking of buying presents for the NIE trainee teachers who taught us for the past 8 weeks or so, Went to popular and looked through random stuff, like a slinky and a fish-like stress ball, but decided to leave it to shengwei in the end, cos we wanted him to do something lol. ok, also becos we couldnt find any of interest.

And yes, 3T is the proud champion of the Class Deco competition! The CEC coucil announced wrongly in the morning, and announced that we got 3rd, which lead to Mr Koh scolding us:
1. For not winning 1st (we thought so at first)
2. For lying that we won (we told him we won, but he said we only win if we are first lol)

When we told the other teachers about this they all reacted funnily, haha. Mrs JLim said: "Huh? Then I should scold my class 10 times more"

Haha, really happy that we have finished our chinese project, so that I can make up for the lost sleep for the past few days...noticed my horrible eyebags, lols. Should be watching Ironman movie tomorrow!

X.X

I dunno how to explain today, its just a complete rojak of things, good and bad. Firstly, got our Maths and Geog CCTs, think I did pretty well, so was quite happy, haha. (Though alvin lum CLAIMED that I was crying because I didnt do well enough...suanners make ppl suan others too!) Then RE was spent mostly in the library, going through our lit review, intro and survey, for the first 20 minutes or so. The rest was spent looking through last year's yearbook looking for familiar faces, so fun, haha. Just love yearbooks, have been waiting for it for months, lol. What can I say? I have the rafflesian spirit in me!

Then was muster parade, which I was watching from the back of the raffles square becos I hadnt been invested yet, quite funny watching it sometimes, I feel. Maybe its becos I havent watched it that many times...but thinking about it, reading from Jon's blog, I also think that they shouldnt take up the UG's time to do something like this lol. Anyway, my first aid practical was screwed up. The whole time I was trying to figure out how I was going to interpret the way to tie a bandage from the images in my memory. Cant believe how ignorant I was, I didnt know the bandages were going to be tied using the scarf...and have never done anything except read the notes and hope I can tie a bandage during the test, lol. Ok, so I managed to tie 2 out of the 4 bandages required= fail! "All of you fail!" So sad. But I havent finished my test yet, still have the misc. things like recovery position and emergency call part.

Now im taking up my sleep/project time to blog, I dont want to think what will happen to me when the teacher sees my quality of work. Im basically dying, becos when I try to do the project, I fall asleep. But when I blog or do any other stuff, I wouldnt...I have even stopped myself from going online on msn, even after the ban, but no results yet. Though im sure im powered by the heart-warming comments on the tagboard, haha, so shall do a bit more before I drift off...

Anyway, for some pictures of the 3T interclass soccer match against 3B, please go to the 3T class blog under the links section! =)

End of CCTs, wad does it mean?
Tuesday, May 06, 2008

Lets start from yesterday...took the theory test for the bronze for First Aid, Map and Compass, and Knots, cos im new. And think I didnt do well, cos I couldnt really remember a lot of the stuff I mugged. The question on shock gave me a larger shock cos I could remember anything sbout it and even wrote in some wrong stuff... But nevermind, wats past...should concentrate on the practical test tomorrow. Also got the physics CCT...the marks were really screwed, not that its bad, but its really screwed. Total: 23/30, MCQ: 3/10. Figure the rest out.

Just took the last CCT for this term, the Biology CCT, and found it quite alright, except that I feel cheated cos the paper only allocated a few marks at most to the RFLP process, which is long and tedious, both to perform and memorise... And the last question, was a complete 'huh?' Cos I dont think we learnt that in class...

Anyway, though its the end of the CCTs, I have yet to feel any sense of happiness or joy, except the short duration when Mr Koh, allowed us to talk crap during cle lesson, which he said was to celebrate the occasion and then the interclass soccer, which we did played faily well in, won 3B 1-0, could have scored more though, but the clean sheet is still there, while the other class which scored for every match so far, just conceded and didnt manage to score for today's round. So we are still officially first, and the only class to havo 0 Goals Against, haha. Jiayou 3T!

Then went home with Teng Chuan after the match and then did projects, worksheets, tests, competitions, projects (again) and re... Still so stressed after the CCTs, what difference does the end of CCT make? Im still sleeping at the same time, still fed up with doing work... Ok, nevermind. We got our Biology SPA skill B back today, and I did quite well, so that did improve my feelings a bit... Theres muster parade and practical test for scouts tmr, so still need to mug before I can fall asleep...=(

PT+Chinese Show
Saturday, May 03, 2008

Yesterday we did our chinese zuowen test, and I was like, woa why is the topic so relevant to me, lol. Its one about young people being addicted to using the internet for whatever purposes, and have to go for counselling and treatment. Ok, firstly, I dont think im addicted in any way, lol. I dont play games like it the end of the world, surf websites and for long periods of time nor chat till i fall asleep or something like that. Its just that it so happens that two days ago (the night before the test) my mum was scolding me for using the internet too much and banned me from using the net for a day. Yes, so when I was writing the essay all I could think of was what my mum said that night, lol. And it proved to be rather helpful...gave me some points. So it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, lol. But because I wrote so much for the points, I didnt have enough to finish the essay, and just took the last 5 minutes trying to write out all the suggestions (建议) and the conclusion. So looks like it wasnt all that good too.

Then had geog lesson, which was quite bad, cos Dr Chionh actually wanted to show us a video, but we were too noisy and she decided not to show us, and scolded us, saying that we did worse than some other classes for the test, and that she actually thought we were her best class last time, only a few are good...these kind of stuff. So, to make us pay, she asked those that didnt hand in their work to go in front to present what they have researchedd on for the formations of hurricanes. And while she was calling people up one by one, and people were giving her the same answers, like didnt do, not done well...I was predicting the name she would call next, using the class list I ahd given her togather with the ws last time. lol. Got almost all correct... But after she finished with those that didnt do their work, which nobody did satisfactory research on, she continued by calling people who actually do their work, lol, so when i was called, she expected me to have done and so I went in front and started saying what is written on the piece of paper I printed out but didnt read, and surprisingly she said I did mention some important points, lol. haha, tyco and she wanted me to tell her where I got my info...but i didnt have the source...but will send the whole class later! Dont worry...

Then we had english, which was slack period, cos we all went for 'Social Advocacy Walk' which was meant to make us realise what the society really needs so that we can help...ok i dont really understand, to me its just a walk in the park. lol.

After school went for humanities club celebration/free-lunch/meeting. Food was good but unhealthy, spaghetti, chicken nuggets, chicken drumsticks, fries (spelt it as fires the first time...) and cream puffs. Loved the cream puffs! It just 'exploded' when I bit into it! And the sweetness is just right. We crapped around and then got bored so started to read Martin's chinese zuowen, which he did last time. LOLS, they were extremely funny, (sad part) cos he, sadly, did not really understand what he was writing. Sorry, Martin, for laughing too much. But thank you very much for allowing us to read them!

Scouts, we had physical conditioning session with YanZhi, and Haliim was there too. I felt was quite ok, except for those kind of stuff that I dont usually do, for example pull and push ups lol. Must train up! and the cheebohs felt that they were being treated unfairly. lols, but they were really really pro...zibei...haha. Zhi treated us to slurpee and gulp too, thanks! Then we met Jim and TengChuan, and went to J8 to eat dinner! Also met Jian Wei there, so we ate Mac's and talked quite a lot then went back to school for the chinese drama by RI and RJ. But before we went into the threatre, we went to den and Sarun sort of scolded us for not locking and cleaning the den up. Sorry...

And then went into the threatre, but in our PE shorts, cos we all didnt feel like changing, lols. Bad move. Freezing in there. We were sitting directly under the air con... The shows were, ok... But liked our school's one the most, expecially WeiXuan's acting, haha. He acted as the mother/wive and had to be really dramatic to create that effect, lols. Well done to all! The RJ's second show, on the other hand, left the deepest impression on me (according to the feedback form I filled) cos for the whole... one hour or so, it was about gays. And it consisted of some ancient chinese people, a modern writer, and some other people. i dont know how it links, but thats just how it goes. There were some RJ jokes in it, so there were times when all the RJ people were laughing quite loudly, but we were all...wondering why they found it so funny. This one was a bit draggy, i felt, cos it revolves around the same people, back and forth, in time too. Got a bit messy, and repetitive sometimes. So wasnt that good... But still, the production in general was well done, so hope for further improvement!

After the show ended, parents brought Jim and I out to have a second dinner, lol, then went home and just fell asleep...at about midnight?

Woke up this morning at about 9+ lol. This has been the longest amount of sleep I have gotten in ages... Havent been sleeping more than 8 hours for the past few weeks...sad, deprived of sleep. Anyway, now its already Saturday night, and I have been mugging for the scouts skills test next week! Hope I dont screw up for this or the Bio test...

My 2nd Act+Labour Day

Phew, just finished the Plog for the cooking race we had yesterday, and am a bit lazy to write about it here again, lol. Main point: We got joint first for the carrot carving and second for the food! Lols, my 2nd act was great, got to know a lot more about my patrol and got the chance to work with them! though Im pretty sure there will still be many chances in future, lol. I just love how 01 gives me the opportunity to work with others, unlike in my ex-cca, where most of the things are individual... Well, haha, also learnt to sympathize with some others' patrols... Also just learnt that there will be an orienteering session next Saturday, in an area pretty close to my house, lol. Lucky for me!

About today, Labour day of course, so a day off school, and also celebration of my Grandma's birthday! Haha, went to a seaside restaurant in a club, so its pretty quiet and calm, with really nice sea breeze! The only thing was that the food and service wasnt as good as previous years, when we have it in other places, but well, the atmosphere should be enough to make up for it. Its a very nice place...and I got to see how the wind affects the water directly, instead of just reading about it in the textbooks, lol. But while thinking about this, also recalled how Dr Chionh told us about tsunamis attacking seaside resorts and places, lol. Which lead the whole class to think that she is afraid of the sea, and doesnt even go to east coast because of that, lol. Had a very enjoyable night, with cousins and relatives, just chatting the night away...

Yea, but now im stuck with work omg. Quite a number of them. And also pressurized by my parents to improve on my zuowen, for tmr's test. Havent really done anything about it up till now, but hope I do well again! (please dont mind this line, cos it has been tests, tests and tests these few weeks...)
