Not to the world, duh... Im not the emo kind. Its to the Korean visitors...
Today was a different day, in that we were having our last day with them. So right after morning assembly, I switched presents with Michael, and reminded him not to open it until he went back, haha, but maybe he didnt hear me or jus couldnt overcome his curiosity, and he took a look during chinese lesson, when he was back at the dorm. Haha. Its ok, nothing big. Then we had our lessons...which we both found quite boring, but the difference is, that Michael didnt slep a wink in class today! Haha, it must have felt different for him too. SS was interesting, we discussed about the issue of ERP (Electronic Road Pricing a.k.a. Everyday Rob People) and Mrs Ong let us listen to Mr Brown's podcast on that. It was a really funny song, entertaining yet with some truth in it. I felt happy that as we listened to the song, I saw Michael laughing with the rest of the class. Why? Because it shows that he already has quite some understanding of the Singaporean culture to have understood the funny parts, and that's really good, I mean, that the aim of the immersion programme has been reached, isnt it? Haha, felt really good about that. Then we also had maths lesson, where those 'highscorers' are given a chance to mass clear their points by doing the air chair, at the rate of 1 demerit point deducted per minute. And you r not allowed to stop halfway just because you have cleared your points or are tired. It must be done from the start to the end of the lesson for the whole of 50 points to be cleared. So...Alvin was sweating quite badly, but Sheng Wei was rather composed and calm. No sweat.
Recess was a class recess+farewell to the visitors. So we all rushed to RJC and bought some things to eat. Sadly there wasnt really enough seats at the longer table, so some of us moved to another smaller one and not all of us could eat together...a real pity. Then we realised that we were slightly late and rushed back to class, while the Koreans continued to eat since they didnt have to rush for the Chinese period. I nearly thought that that would have been the last time seeing them, but fortunately not.
Everything went well, Mdm Wong was so kind to have let us off, and even helped to take group photos for us when the Koreans returned for a 'final' farewell after the Chinese period. It was quite funny, but I could almost sense the unusual atmosphere then in the classroom, it wasnt simply the usual laughing and suanning going on. Well, I dont have the group photos with me now, will get them later. Then we went for assembly, and the Koreans left us, ok maybe except Jon. We were all packed in LT1, and watching the dance item called 'Unity in Diversity'. It was almost like propaganda, and how I wished that they were there to watch the performance. To us, yeah...its just so usual, we see it so often, but maybe not to them...
So after the performance was over, I went out to look for Mr Koh and passed him his present from Tina. And he was like so surprised that he also wanted to return her something and went to prepare for it, while Jim and I made our way towards the gate, out of school. But miraculously, I got a call from Ben Ng and he told me that Michael was looking for me. Wow...that was the best thing he could have said. And so, we managed to meet yet again, and this time, we had time on our hands. Think it was because many of them wanted to have some time on their own, with or without their buddies, and not go on a trip every single day. So they cancelled the trip, and there we were. Samuel saw us and joined us, and I called Teng Chuan to tell him about our plans, fortunately he could make it, haha. XinYan...couldnt reach him and Viet was busy, so...sadly they couldnt go.
We brought Michael to Kovan to bowl, and talked about lots of things on the way there and back, and I think that Michael has really experienced more of the Singaporean life than the others. I mean, you need to actually try taking a bus right? Haha. I also find it fascinating to find out the differences and the reasons why, haha. We werent good at bowling, yea, but nevertheless we did have a lot of fun, shouting at strikes, commenting on others, trying to learn how to bowl better by looking at pros...haha. Reminds me of a class gathering-like occasion.
Then we all went home, and I brought Michael back to school to play basketball with Ben Ng, but on the way back, Mr Koh called and said that he has prepared a gift for them and told me to pick it up, haha. So we went back to school, and I told Michael to get a seat while I talked to Mr Koh. And so...dunno why he took so long that when we got back to where he was sitting, he was already sleeping. haha, I guess its because he didnt sleep in class today? And so he gave him the gifts and said bye...and then we went back to the Basketball court and they played basketball. I went home. But before that, just as I was about to leave, he said something really nice, haha, dunno if he had heard my reply, cos it might have been too soft, but I really do have lots to tell him, haha. Becoming one of the student ambassadors, has really been a great choice I made. To all from Korea, thank you for being such great guests and feel free to come back again! =D
Wow, a long post, now for some pictures:
Chaos in class after class

This is my second post today, writing about today, haha. Today morning is nothing special, physics was just doing a worksheet in class...geog was talking about natural disasters and urban studies, test on week 9. Chem was going through the chemistry practical we had last week. Apparently Mr Koh acted as if he was angry and scolded us, until we realised that we were the highest scorers among all his classes. He also said that he found it impossible that we can lose 2 marks for the practical test. But is it that difficult to lose 2 marks? So 15/17 is not a good score to Mr Koh, haha. Thats our class average, too bad. Then he started teaching us Acids and Bases...and then recess! Which Michael and I left slightly late for, cos he was contemplating whether or not to go down and eat, while I was trying to ask Mr Koh a question...So I ended up eating with many of the Korean guys and telling them about the dishes haha. Then we returned late to class, haha, but its still ok. Another chem period...*yawn* and then chinese and maths lessonss. Chinese CCT was...slightly difficult...but its still alright...
Then after school was scouts, which we spent almost the whole time teaching the juniors how to tie the sailmakers whip and returning the completed donation draw booklets to Jun Jie. Now Im dozing off...but I cant stop thinking that its gonna be the last day for the Koreans tomorrow...sad.

Today is a monday, but I shall start writing from last Saturday- Mini Olympics. Woke up in the morning and went to school...met in front of the den which is under renovation and then moved to RJC track. PT first, did lots of random stuff, haha. And we were all complaining about how we were going to perform well later... Then, we got the list of events for the track part of the mini olympics. 100m, 200m, 400m (1 from each level), 4*100m relay (any 4), 800m (any 1), 1.6 (cancelled) and 3.2 (any 2). And since we were lucky to have quite a good attendance on that day, each of us could take on less events and also do better for each one! I took only 2, the 800m and 2.4km. Well, I must say that we did pretty well, winning a top 3 position for all of our events (except 1), haha. It was really quite nice to see all the members of the patrol put in their best efforts and really running, going on and on. And when it came for my first event, the 400m, I was inspired and ready and just tried to run as fast as I could, and sustain it for the whole of one round around the track. Haha, I think I did pretty ok, but wasted some of my energy trying to sprint too fast at the start. And when I was reaching the end point, Sarun was like telling me that I can slow down, and I did...cos I was tired la...haha. Anyway, I got first for that...but it wasnt much of a big deal, considering that that was my first event of the day... Then was my second event, and also the last event of the day, which was the 2.4km run. Well, it was quite tiring to try and run fast for this, and also because there was pressure from 'the challenger', Jun Jie, haha. He was really fast, in front of me throughout the whole race, but towards the end I increased my pace to catch up a little more, and just sprinted with whatever I had left at the last 100m or so. Ended up being just 2 seconds behind him, haha, missing the bonus marks by just a bit. Thank you so much to all those who were cheering me on as I ran...haha those words of encouragement really helped. Couldnt have done it without you guys... Like I remembered Kenneth going down onto the track to cheer on the runners who were running past...that left a deep impression in my mind, haha.
Then we went back to RI, for the rest of the mini-olympics part 1, which were badminton, tennis and basketball. The badminton team did well, they (though mostly a he lols) won a first in the individual i think... Then about the tennis, it wasnt that good, for a simple reason. We only had one tennis player in our patrol...Kenneth. So he single-handedly took on those from other patrols, in both the singles and doubles matches. I was playing doubles too, but dont think I have contributed much to that round...was just a physical barrier there, haha. So good job to our PL for tennis and APL for badminton! Basketball next. Fun one. It was one we all participated in together and just played, haha. We won a match and lost one, so went for the third-fourth placing match against KF, which we both drew at 1-1, and then proceeded to shootoffs. First one was scored by Tak Wei, which boosted our spirits quite a lot, but the second was really funny. Ming E scored. Right after he said, "I dunno how to shoot..." And so we won! and got third placing for basketball...if im not wrong...
Haha, again, I was touched to see everyone putting in their best, whether or not they were from my patrol! Congrats to those who know that they've tried their best, because they will get, at the very least, a sense of satisfaction, only when they have given their all! Hope to see more of the olympic spirit shown in part2 of the mini olympics! It will be on Wednesday and will include Frisbee, Soccer and Captain's Ball!
Went for a batch lunch after the whole thing, except those who went to watch The Dark Knight, then went back to school with Alvin, Anurak and Amos (AAA), cos Alvin and Amos wanted to watch Dramafeste. I went along and found out that there were still tickets available, but didnt buy them cos I felt quite tired and stinky then, and dont want to dirty/stink up the whole threatre, haha. But just as I went onto the bus, Alvin called and told me that the Koreans were there! Cos, I had actually wanted to watch the show with them, so was late in buying my tickets. But its ok, we wouldnt have been able to talk much in the threatre anyway.

Im tempted to have another post today. OK right. Now I shall write more about today with my friends from Korea! Haha. So today morning started off with a presentation by our guests. Although I would usually not be too interested in normal presentations, theirs just seem to capture my attention, every second of it, haha. Let me write down what I remember...So envious of their school, its located in a really beautiful mountainous region, and there's a lake near their school...the pictures they showed were just...gorgeous. They go on trips to the lake a few times a semester, and have berbeque parties beside the lake too. And their barbeque party can really be called a barbeque party, cos it was on quite a big scale with lots of food, friends and beautiful scenery, haha. But with all the cool stuff, they study really hard too, for many more hours than us, lessons are from about 9am in the morning to the afternoon, then they will have some activities, like our CCAs, and the night, it would be their self-study time. Lights out is at 12 midnight for the grade 7-9 students and 2am for grade 10-12 students. Wow. That would be a suitable school for me, haha. I was just thinking that maybe some students in our school should work harder? I know some of us are already stretching our limits, but there are also some yet to be thoroughly stretched, haha. They have activities similar to our CCAs, like Taekwondo and music lessons, which are compulsory, but they are given a choice of musical intruments they want to learn. There is also one called the rock band, haha cool.
Other than school, they also shared on their culture in Korea, including popular culture, the Korean dramas. Haha, Michael raised an example many of us would know, and that is what we call 'Winter Sonata'. Haha, they are absolutely right in saying that its a popular culture, cos many of my relatives watch them! Whether its my aunts, grandmother, my sister, or some of my friends, I would say that many watch them, haha. Hmm...I watch a little myself too. And I watched 200 pounds beauty too, but its movie. Then they also taught our class how to speak a little Korean. Haha, but im not good at spelling them out...
Of course, besides the presentation, I have learnt so much from them and also realised a few things myself too...shall say more about this next time! And really hope that we will have an even more enjoyable time together during the remaining days. =)

Today was pretty much a normal school day, nothing really interesting except maybe that we won another match in the Raffles Soccer League against 3Q, if im not mistaken. The score was...2-1, another blow to us. We conceded another goal. Haha, but the good news is that we have already secured the top prize in the league! So congratulations to all in 3T! Just finished the second geog essay in two days. Somehow Dr. Chionh just spams us with essays. She gave us one on Wed which is due on Thurs and one on Thurs, due on Fri... I really didnt expect there to be a time that we will have 3 geog lessons consecutively... Ok, so for the Chemistry practical test today, it was okay...I finished pretty quickly but got a value thats very different from most of the rest of the class. Its ok...im just hoping for the best, haha. PE today we did our second lesson on volleyball, and this time we are really going into and playing. Second lesson = we all suck at it. So yes, most of the time was spent running about trying to retrieve the balls. But as we played longer, our group got slightly better and we could at least hit it over and back...haha. Oh yes, and some ppl didnt bring their PE attire, so yea they had to take off their shirt. Nothing special...except that we had female guests today! And they were like so embarrassed and turned around. Tina and Jane didnt play, but the guys played with us, not to mention that I dont think they were impressed lol. Then after the lesson, it was recess and I brought Michael to RJC's 7-11. He actually wanted to buy coke freeze or something, but the 7-11 didnt have it. Well, I kinda expected that...so we both bought gulps in the end and had a nice chat near there. Haha, I wanted to show him how 'kiasu' Singaporeans were, lols. Cos the gulps were selling at 1 for $1.30 but 2 for $2.20, haha. Then we went back to class for maths lesson, which we learnt about circles, and surprisingly got about 15 minutes of free time from Mrs Lim, haha.
Anyway, I was just feeling random and went to find out and listen to the school song of the CheongShim International Academy, where the visitors are from. And I found it really nice, haha. Its fresh, compared to those in Singapore. Though it might be a little more difficult to sing, but I really didnt expect there to be a school song like this, haha. Maybe its because they are a young school, established in around 2005. But its really surprsing how a school can become one of the the top in the country in just a few years, haha, it must be really special.
There will be interclass soccer tomorrow...humanities club meeting too...

Didnt update yesterday because I was busy doing my RE and improving on the presentation on animes, which I presented today. It went ok, some errors here and there...IT faults...'criticised' by Ms Quah about being too virtual...but overall it was fine. Haha, too many things have happened in the last two days. Well, first of all, is of course the arrival of the Korean visitors to our school, and five of them into 3T! They are: Michael, Jon, Marvin, Tina and Jane! On Tuesday morning, Samuel and I went up to the stage to pick up our buddies and bring them to our classroom. On the way, we had a pretty nice chat with them about our school, haha. And then when we got to class, Mrs Lim was there and she didnt seem like she was going to give the guests some time to introduce themselves, so we just got them into their seats. As promised, Samuel and I wouldnt be getting girls cos Mr Koh said we got to pick them up. But in the confusion, Samuel did get one, and so did Teng Chuan. And since I was going back to my seat, I just told the guy who was rather quiet to come sit with me, haha. He was Michael. I dont really know how we got off to a start, but we just started to talk about stuff. Just anything we could think of, haha. Well, he did go to Australia for 5 years, so that might explain why we can communicate better...And he even got himself a book from the library, haha. Its Snakehead, the seventh book of the Alex Rider series. Really nice series I read since I was in primary school, when a classmate introduced the author to me. Anthony Horowitz, haha. I found out that he reads really fast, like three quarters of the book within one night... Okay, so unknowingly, I have already started talking about today (i mean yesterday), realised that a few of the other ambassadors are not really being nice...hope they will communicate more...and hope that we will find the remaining time together even more enjoyable! Haha, dont know why Im suddenly very excited about the visitors...maybe its because its the first time we are hosting students from Korea...maybe its because its my first time having a buddy...maybe its because I never really tried to think and feel for others before this.
Dramafeste coming up soon, this Friday and Saturday! And looking forward to PE tomorrow!
And good job WJ! Thank you for inviting us to attend that wonderful concert! And the jellybeans too, haha. Sorry I didnt post this earlier...was too sleepy.

Some people might be thinking why I havent updated yet (i hope...), well I dont need to answer that, do I? Work, duh... So much work from the holidays...and more work these few days...
Today at school was quite fun, in the morning had Racial Harmony Day celebrations. Although I thought that some parts could be improved, I appreciate the hard work put in by those RE groups and like their wit in dealing with situations...could see a few today, haha. Then the sec3s had to stay back to listen to 2 announcements. First was the leadership programme thing, which Mr Tan announced and he said "3A....3R
, thats all". Haha, we were all laughing really loudly. I dont need to explain further, except that Mr Koh felt suanned. Then the classes which will get the visitors from South Korea are announced! And Im glad to say that yay 3T was chosen! Lols, Teng Chuan immediately shouted "yes!" when he heard that... Samuel and I will be going to 'collect' (the term used by Mr Koh) them tomorrow, and so we will be getting the guys, while the other 3 ambassadors will get the girls, lols. Mr Koh assign one. Hope we will have fun being with them! Oh yes, they will get to see my anime presentation too... lols =)
Test taking today...it went pretty okay la...Im more confident about my knots and first aid, but i think I cmi for map and compass....sad. But overall still quite happy today...

Woke up early today morning to go for an extra bio lab lesson on disection, haha. We disected an Ikan Kuning and took out its gills to study and draw. Erm...quite okay la...I realised that I wasnt very good at disection, cos when I tried to pull the gills out, the large intestines came out with it and everything got really messy. But not like im going to be disecting a lot more stuff, lols, so nvm, haha. Then was interclass soccer. Our class had trouble deciding whether they wanted Macs, lols. Quite a number of people werent here today, like our legendary, pro, fast, smart, accurate....goalie Teng Chuan. Which is why we...conceded a goal. Its not Ervin's fault la, just that he isnt used to it. Well, we still won didnt we? Haha, remembered that I couldnt stop shouting/saying "Teng Chuan..." when we conceded, lols, guess I couldnt imagine how disappointed he would be. Sorry for...not saying anything while taking photos of the match, which resulted in them scoring against us? They must be so proud. Lotsa photos coming up on the class blog!
Ok, so in the end we went to Macs to have lunch, and I got my second olympics glass! Haha, today I got the Volleyball one. Like yesterday, we squeezed into the same seats meant for only 8 people, lol. Then we went back to school, I dunno what i went back for, but I went to the den to have a rest. Lols, then suddenly wanted to tie/revise sailmaker so I went to tie for another piece of rope, haha. And while tying, they went to have lunch, not that I didnt want to go with them, but Im not the kind that gives up halfway, so I was determined to complete it, lols. And after completing the two knots, I went to practise carrom with Rong Jun while watching Sup play dota. Then everyone came, and we left for the Bishan NPC together. I wasnt sure whether I can go for this course, but I still went haha. Turned out that we were there early, and the police gave us legal permission to loiter at the void decks near there, lol. So we played bridge and hearts there, very fun, haha. Then we had the talk thing by the policeman, and he told us about crimes and stuff, but the most interesting was the lock up cell and the holding bay. Where people were put during the investigation. And then he told us about what are acts of mischief and gave us examples, like minor vandalising or throwing killer litter, like stones. And that was how Francis got the idea that he could only be charged for mischief if he was caught attempting suicide, lols. Well, quite okay la, now I know what Jim learnt in his NPCC days last time. And today I got hold of some anime drawings which I am so going to show my class! Here are just some pics of interclass soccer today:

Yesterday morning could sleep until quite late, then went to school to go and support the judo national finals at Bedok Sports Hall. Think that out of the whole class, at most half went for this, lols. And thats half of those who have no excuses not to go. So you can pretty much guess the number. So was quite fun, talking lots of cock on the bus there, and then just watched lor. At first we were sitting on the gallery, but we were asked to go down to the first floor to cheer so that we would seem louder. HwaChong, as usual, sent in a LOT of people, i think more than they are supposed to, lols. And just crowded the whole place up. They couldnt fit into the area allocated to them, and asked the rest of them to stand all around the gallery, lols. (the gallery was also round) So, when they cheered or shouted, the whole place was flooded with their voice. Now that's pretty smart. But we werent dumb too, so we stood close to the competitors and cheer as a group there. (but not too close...over the yellow line, lols, those there would understand) So in the end, A' div RJC won both titles! B'div we lost...but still 2nd la. The most memorable match was the last of the A'div girls finals. Cos it was like RJC had already won by 3-1, but there was still one last match which HCI kept one of their good ones for. RJC did the opposite i think. So the HCI person sort of took her revenge, and the whole thing was just quite sad. I admire their sportsmanship though.
Ok, so after that we all rushed out of the stadium thing and Hiok Yang, Francis and I tried to find our way back to RI for the 02 campfire. Everything was quite messy then, like people running about, not knowing where to go, how to go, etc. But still managed to get back to J8 and we waited at Macs for the others. So meanwhile we played extreme chopsticks kinda thing, where you could reach any number and still not die, as long as you can represent the number with your fingers on one hand, lols. So eg. 11 wont die, but 10 would, haha. Then the rest of the 01-2006 plus Yi Ming came and we ate dinner together, squeezing 11 people into seats meant for 8 people, lols. The store person told us to sit somewhere else, but we didnt want to, and proved to him that we can all fit in, haha. Oh yes, and I got the Macs Olympics Glass thing! Mine is the archery one. Quite nice. Francis got some chili on his pants, at the ahem...sensitive area, lols. And sup offered to help him clean it up by dipping his french fries there...
So after that we went back to school, changed into uniform, although as usual lots of things happen, haha. Then went for the campfire lor. Well it was quite good la, just that many ppl say that it isnt a real campfire cos there arent any campfire songs or things like that. But well, I did like the project dreams performance where the girl sang and the guy played the guitar, that was good. And of course the hip hop dances, especially the one by Chu Yong, really imba. Then was the refreshments, which I didnt take and only got a small piece of i-dunno-what. Back at den, some ppl were playing carrom, while I rested then went home, lols. Reached home at 10+ and Jim wasnt home yet. He was eating dinner with the T&F ppl at Swensens, lol.
Work...work...work...
Anyway here are some pics, so enjoy!

Today went to school for the 'Leadership is a Decision' talk by Professor Robert J. Sternberg. Feels quite privileged to be listening to a talk by this world famous professor, haha. Well, I found his talk quite useful and what he said did actually make a lot of sense to me, but some where along the way I thought that his talk was maybe a little too impractical and idealistic? But he was a really funny speaker, so didnt have a problem with sleeping, haha. I actually liked listening to him talk, lol. Then went to have lunch with Jim, Teng Chuan and Shaun Tan at J8, lols, then we took different routes home. I took same way as Teng Chuan, and Jim took same way as Shaun. In the end he reached first. Ok thats no problem. But after I put my bag down, I got a call from Samuel, saying that he was at Bishan Library...and so I rushed all the way back to Bishan to do our cartoon strip geog project. But before that I got the realisation that I am spending quite a lot of time travelling (to and fro sometimes) and so I need to be making better use of the time, lol. Today I took a book with me as I left to read, and I made good progress! Haha. Thats all today.
Some time last week, I was asked to do a talent showcase for my class. And was informed one day beforehand. Ok, so due to some unforseen circumstances (temperature taking exercise) I was unable to prsent. (ok, not like I actually remembered to prepare). I crapped up some reasons to explain that I couldnt present on that day, saying that my presentation would require more time, got this and that...and Mr Koh believed me in the end, and told the class: "Ei everyone listen up, Jack says that he cant present today cos he prepared a lot." That totally did it. I now have to do up a good presentation with lots of special stuff.
Hey wait...dont think its that hard, lols. Especially when I convinced Mr Koh that I had no talent whatsoever and just want to do a 'portfolio showcase' lols. In this case, I wanna do on my interest in animes! Thinking of what to do liao. I just love this. This is like free publicity for animes by me! lols, think about how that would contribute to the anime community. Fine, maybe not that much. But I hope I will do a good job and share much on animes! =)

Lols had enough rest liao, so gonna blog now. We didnt have school on Friday, cos its a day to celebrate the success of the Raffles Programme or something lol, but still went to school at 9.45am for inter UG soccer. It wasnt really like what I heard about the last few matches which we lost, cos I thought we werent too bad, haha, cos we won! I didnt really do much though, it was just my presence there, nothing else I did. So after that we all went back to den to continue preparations for AVSW. I was using the flexisaw to saw out the holes for the board, lol. Cos the aim of the game is to tilt the board such that the ball (marble or ball bearing) moves from one point to another without falling into the other random holes or out of the board, lol. (had enough practice saying this during the carnival itself, lols) So saw, saw, saw... Then the flexisaw broke into two parts, then took half and continued sawing. But broke again. Then took the other half that wasnt broken, and the same thing happened. Lols, now we have a total of eight parts of flexisaws! (not my calculations got prob la, the samt hing happened on the last prep session) So sorry Amos, destroyed your flexisaw. But now my legs got lots of small cuts from the board, lols. Then went to eat (pepper)lunch, lols, and went back to school. Found francis in den, haha. This time I didnt do much, cos I didnt know what to do cos there saw only one drill, lol. So I did my geog hw to hand in to Dr Chionh while listening and singing to songs played on Zhong Jun's laptop, lols. I had a very enjoyable time. First time I found homework so fun, haha. We were singing to all the songs he played lol, and had some discussions, haha. (included some on pokemon, digimon, FIR, anime, and other random stuff) Francis was drilling all the while, lols, PhD in Drilling. Then think Kenneth, Amos and Hiok Yang came back from their RE meeting and we did more stuff like thinking of how to modify the game so that we can finish in time lol. Then I went home for dinner, packed my bag and went on my way to Pathlight School to stay overnight. (note on my way)
You might think, whats there to write about for a bus journey? Well, those who were there would know. I thought I was smart lor, and went to take the bus without checking which direction to take. And so I took 20 stops half asleep until I saw a big bright sign: Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre. I knew I was lost. I wanted to go to AMK! How did I get to Marine Parade? (Loop buses are confusing) So I quickly got off and called Jim to ask him for help, but it seems like he had trouble finding a way to AMK, except to take the same way back, lols. So I did. (Taxis were REALLY tempting, ok...but I was determined not to, I just had to get there myself!!) And this time, I was careful. Ok, so I wasnt good at directions, lol, but I can be good at asking people, right? And so i did, I asked the bus driver to tell me to alight when we reached, lols. This time I didnt sleep a wink. Ok, so reached there at about 10.20pm. Thats 2 hours of travelling. Now I know how much I hate it, lols. But it was a good 'lost' experience, now I know that I should use the bus guide next time, haha.
When I got there, most of the work was already done, so nothing much to do. Really really sorry to everyone there...I should have known better than to travel blindly. So we tested our game and I got a tour of the place from Alvin, then went up to 'the room above the cafe', which was like a storeroom, where we spent the night. It was a really fun room! I mean there was nothing inside, but it was air conditioned, b i g, soundproof (hehe), had some tables and chairs, powerpoints, and fun people! You can guess what happened. Some people were playing games on the laptop while blasting music, some were looking at how to improve on our game, decorating it further and drilling while blasting music and some were playing bridge (me) while blasting music, lols. Had to make good use of the soundproof room what. But some people sort of didnt know what a soundproof room was and thought that there can be no sound inside lols. I really liked the room! Most up us stayed up late, I only slept at about 3am, lols, playing bridge. I think Im getting addicted. Its so fun. Then woke up at about 4.30am to pump balloons. There were 3000 balloons and only about 3 balloon pumpers. Lols, I was only doing the organising of the ballons, like where to store them and stuff, lols. I dont know how, but I found this tiring...did this until about 8+ am (so boring) and saw people streaming in, so went back to the stall to set up. Nothing much la just put the boards in place, arrange the prizes (which were really good), write out the rules and cost... Then the walk started, a pity I couldnt walk the walk or even see the walk. But the stall was fun too la.
Think our stall was good, cos it needed skills, patience, and maybe, just maybe a little strength.(cos I realised our board was a little too heavy for some of the kids...) But the idea was good... Prizes were given out quite easily, even though the game itself was rather difficult. This was to reward people who had the courage to try! Prizes included (in order of difficulty of getting): Pure Water (haha), Biscuits (either Sultana or Lemon flavour), Small anime keychain (omg LOVE this), CD (produced by Pathlight School, but sadly didnt get a chance to listen to it), Coin Bank (in the shape of a frrog, lols, quite cute), Thermos Flask (its good...), Big Anime figurines (Dragonball ones, want it so badly, lols), and lastly a gigantic 01 racing car toy which-can-move-on-just-the-back-two-wheels thing (just the size is enough for it to be the top prize)!

Lols, the other highlight of the event was of course the dunking! And among us, Yan Zhi, Hiok Yang, Francis and Anurak were the ones chosen, haha. And thats was how the sapped a whole lot of our money, haha. They smart. I only managed to dunk Hiok Yang, lols. But did try on Francis and Anurak too, YanZhi was spared cos he was the first and I still wasnt sure of whether I should dunk (or try to dunk) 01 people lol. Haha, had lots of funseeing people dunk people and people getting dunked by people. Haha felt guilty for dunking...lols. Also have to thank Tak Wei for giving us some coupons to have fun with, lols. Haha, so he was indirectly responsible for all the dunking, lols. So after the whole things, and seeing many people, we helped to clear up, a lot of manual work, lols. Haha, but it was all worth it, the carnival was very well done and on such a large scale too! There were thousands of people...and many stalls...lots of games, food and drinks, even 'fishing', dunking and a giant bouncy castle for the kids, lols. Must really congratulate the Ventures on their big success! Really impressive. High expectations set for next year...but hope that we can do even better!
01 just keeps getting better, lols.

OH YAY! This is officially my 200th post! Finally, its my turn to proudly announce this on my blog, lols. So I shall dedicate this post to writing about my blogging experience! (and out off something to my next post) It wont be that boring la... OK, so I started blogging just as I entered my current school, so to put it nicely, my blog has grown with me! Just like how I have grown in school, or at least I think. Blogging, has really helped me in many ways:
1. Keep records of stuff
2. Express my inner feelings (though not everytime)
3. Keep in touch with my friends
4. Relieve stress
...just to name a few. Haha, I know this sounds all so stupid, but if my blog were a person, I would have thanked him/her many many times over, for helping me with the above stuff, and staying up late with me, 'listening' to what i have to say... It has transformed within these few years of existence, with a few different blogskins used. One with all the bleach captains (of course that was then, now there are new ones, but shant elaborate or it will become an essay), then there was one of hitsugaya with his bankai. And of course this current skyship skin. Let me just pen down the origin of this blog before I forget it...ok, obviously it was my love for animes, and it was meant to be a continuation of another blog which i abandoned due to certain reasons...And although I didnt see it coming to this stage, but it did. =) Its still surviving well, as well as ever...(oh yea, how come all the simile like thing can use 'ever' one huh...even contrasting ones, lol, im dumb) And its precisely during times like this, when I know that what I write is actually something and not junk from my own world, that I feel so thankful for creating this animeniacguy and well, that people do acknowledge my existence. Yes, this sounds so...vain? But I think that might be just how I feel... Now, the purpose of writing this blog...not too sure about that. I guess it depends. I always thought that I wanted to know how it was like before, even when I grow up and old. And thats one of the reasons why. I want to know how I lived life before, what i thought about things, what i went through, who are the important people in my life and through all these, see my changing process and also simply for the sake of remembering. I guess im the sort who likes to look into the past? Haha, well it would be good if I could look back, and proudly say that I have did this, done that, felt this way, and lived my life to its fullest. =)
I liked that. Really. Now for some boring statistics:
200 posts / 29 months of existence = 6.90 posts/month (to nearest integer)
6.90 posts/month / ~30 days/month = 0.23 posts/day
1 post / 0.23 posts/day = 1 post every 4.35 days (to 3sf)*
*Yay, improvement from the average recorded at the 100th post of 1 post every 7.3 days! Ok, is it a good thing? Lols. In case anyone was wondering, tomorrow and the whole of next week, we will not be having any lessons. Explains why I can write more today, haha.

Today's 01 Cup was really fun, had a lot more than I expected, lol. Dodgeball, Soccer, Word search, Frisbee, (?) Charades and Sudoku! But I shant write anything yet, cos I just blogged on democracy for my English-SS PT...tired now. Still have to mug physics. Tomorrow's mafti day! Yay, its fun, but then what do I wear...but luckily Ervin saved me by sending an sms saying all 3T-ians wear black, lol.

Ahh...so much work...Geog, Eng, SS, Maths, Chinese, Chem, RE!...Physics test on Thursday... I shouldnt even be blogging now. Yea, so...I shall go start on my nocturnal life now. Truth is, I really work better late at night, but I dont like it. I want to sleep. After finishing some work, lol. Today was a rather slack day, so quite fun, but its not a slack night.

11:49 PM

is just the same, like any other day we dont have to go to school. This morning I still went to school becos a certain someone told me that we are going to have a class gathering. But when I went there I was...really a bit disappointed when I saw only a few from our class. I brought quite a lot of stuff there, but... Ok, well then. So we played soccer, which I absolutely suck at. Didnt want to play at first, cos I knew I would just spoil the whole game. But thanks to Manfred, I went on to play. Really appreciated it. =) But then because I suck, I kept runing after the ball and stuff. They could see that I was...well, not my usual self, lol. And then the whole thing just became boring, to them. Culprit? Yours truly. (lols, also poking fun at the guy at assembly) Well, thats just what i was afraid would happen, so felt quite bad after that. And then left earlier with Hiok Yang. So sorry to Alvin, Ben Ng, Manfred, ex-classmates, Zi Xuan, Wang Peng, for not eating lunch with them. I just couldnt be there to spoil the fun anymore... Its awkward, even if you dont feel that way, i do. But still, thank you for making the effort and inviting me! So...went home, ate and just slacked around and played some games. Rushed the SS essay just now in the evening, thats why I didnt go online, ok, except maybe a little on facebook lols. Haha, just joined the new 01 group for My Heroes Ability, lols, described by Yi Ming as 'knots...', lol. Still have geog and chinese essay not done, lols. Hope I can finish them all tmr! You(th) see, thats y I said Youth Day is just like any other non-school day... *sigh*

Lols, while most of the 01-2006 were out there hiking and drawing maps, I spent the whole day learning stuff, not all that bad too, haha. So yesterday morning I went to school for the Interschool Philosophy Dialogue. My topic was 'Girlfriend from Hell' Hm... Ok I shall attempt to type out the whole topic here:
--Start of topic--
Alvin and Celine are in a deteriorating relationship, and the situation finlly turns ugly when Celine starts insulting Alvin with every derogatory comment one can ever conceive of (and in several languages, to boot).
Alvin, being the nice, likeable person that he is, and wo is certainly unaccustomed to being the recipient of such venom, says that he is hurt. Celine, the girlfriend from hell who is an expert at verbal blood sport (a skill honed no doubt during her career as a lawyer), laughs callously.
"Dont blame me for hurting you. My words will only hurt you if you allow them to. So it's your own fault if you're hurt."
On one hand, it certainly seems like Celine is right- if an obviously psychotic man came up to you on the street and started hurling abuse at you (perhaps because he imagines you to be an enemy of his), you would simply ignore him. On the other hand, an insult is designed to hurt, much like a sword is intended to cut. Obviously one would be cut by the sword regardless of how one regards it; likewise, the capacity of the insult to hurt would seem quite independent on of how one regards the words.
These two views seem compelling, but, at the same time, are incompatible (i.e. you ca only choose one). Which is right? Does the hurt Alvin feels depend on how much he allows the insults to hurt him?
--End of topic--
Lols, Lionel in my group was rather disappointed, because he claimed that he wanted some inputs from those of the opposite gender, and our group was made up of only guys, lol. But of course we all know what he is thinking...haha. We had quite a fruitful discussion, with many points covered that I havent thought of, and it really gave me a different perspective of the question, after the whole thing. Shant write them here to let you people think through it yourself, lol. Overall, it was quite a fun and interesting event, I never thought that an event can be just putting everyone in rooms and letting them talk, lols.
Then after the dialogue session, Jim and I went to J8 to get lunch, but halfway there it started to rain, lol. Had to run, lols. Now I appreciate the trees even more. Then got reminded of those at FC, was it raining there too? haha. Anyway, we had a quick lunch before running off to tuition, lol. 2 hours at maths tuition really doesnt help the tired mind, after a philosophy dialogue. Was dozing off at maths lesson, lol. Haha, so after maths I felt slightly more awake, and rushed back to Bishan to meet with Hiok Yang for geog project due. Was doing some stuff at Bishan library, and had some trouble first with the internet, then with the power. But in the end everything went ok, and we just kept everything, then helped Hiok Yang find books on Autism for his RE. Haha, found out that he too volunteered at the library before, lols. but he did the more boring job out of all the boring jobs. He was doing the sorting of books in the sorting room-'the centralised collection point of returned books or messed up books' Lols, at least I was doing more of shelving which was outside and moving around, haha. I found out that my skills in shelving proved to be useful, cos I had no problem looking for books just by their call number. lols, first realisation of that.
So after that we went out and went to take a bus. Lols, had some problems on whether or not we should J-walk (lols, dont want to write it out). But Hiok Yang sort of managed to trick me by saying that his bus is like reaching soon. And because I was such an easy target to trick, he managed to get me to J-walk, lols. Cunning. So from there I went directly to my grandmother's house since my family was there. Ate a dinner, then watched LOTR with my cousins on TV and played some random PSP games. Was really falling asleep that time liao, lols. Which is why it wasnt surprising when I went home and ate a lot again, then fell asleep quite 'early'. Lols, the philosophy of language. One problem is the definition of words. 1. Words are ideas, and different people can have different ideas of words. 2. Words have different meanings in different contexts. 'early' can mean 6am, 8pm, or even 1am. Lols, ok I should be too obbessed with philosophy now. Still need to do zuowen, SS essay and RE. Look forward to seeing them return from FC! Oh yes, and of course the extra day off- Youth Day! Which is the day youths do what youths should do! Homework.

Lols, for the past few days, I dunno why I have been exposed to a lot of carrom, haha. Like on wednesday, the carrom fiesta that the ventures had organised. It was, well, interesting enough. Could learn and practice some tricks/skills that they taught to us. Being a beginner, I wasnt much of a player, and admit that I did really badly at most of the stations. Felt a bit sad that I was sort of dragging the team down, and couldnt really contribute much. So we really didnt do well for this, and were quite sad, duh.
Thursday was...Maths test! Sorry I just had to cut in and talk about this cos this was the culprit for causing me some degrees of mental damage worrying about it. Firstly its because the test was testing on a topic covered 3 months ago? lols. I know, yes, its my fault for not remembering, but sorry, thats just how I am now, cant seem to remember things taught in the past. And so I had to mug a bit more than usual to revise for it, taking up much of my sleeping time, lol. then on that day itself, since my lesson was on the last period, I had the chance to talk to others about the test. Not on the content! but just the difficulty, lols. They all said: Very hard....very hard....sure fail...pass I happy liao...dam bomb... Things like that, woa that made me worry even more la, think i have some anxiety disorder for certain situations lol. Then recess I forced myself to break out of it by selling the coupons for AVSW at the canteen, and talked to some friends. That really helped. Note that I did NOT even get to meet Jim after his test, so no arguments about that, lol. Well, I must say Im glad I mugged, cos I actually knew some parts of the test and well, because of some tips I got from Mrs Chong last year about log, I managed to figure out the working for at least 2 questions in the test. How lucky. Really it was pure recalling of what Mrs Chong said about log last year which made me remember what steps to do... Well, wish for the best!
So today, Friday, I went to hand in the geog wss for the class after getting lunch after school. Then went to the den to slack around for a while, also handing in the AVSW coupons. 'Very touching' Lol. Then went to the astroturf to watch my class play a friendly against some other random classes. I think we are getting better. =) Didnt play, cos I didnt want to affect them playing, since I wont be playing in those real matches anyway, lol. Im a better supporter, haha. And also because I wasnt feeling very well this afternoon, like blocked nose and stuff, Then plus sneezing. So when time was up, went for humanities club which was mostly presentation on the overseas journeys that our club has gone to, one on Amsterdam in the US and one on Sapporro in Japan. The Japan one was much better planned and seems really fun...but the US one was badly planned- 1000 people living in an 'army camp' with just 24 shower cubicles for 500+ boys, many cancellations, some quarreling among delegates from different countries, and even racism. Woa, thats a whole lot of problems...
Anyway, back to carrom. I sort of pangseh Jim and went to den while he went home. Played carrom in the den with Alvin, Zhong Jun, Amos, Lionel. Haha was quite fun. Think that I have improved a bit on my accuracy, but im stilling failing in gauging the power usage, lols. Many a times when the seeds are supposed to go in, they fly out of the board lols. Then went home with Alvin.
Most of 01-2006 are going for their first class hike tomorrow, which will last 2D1N. So that leaves them with the 1 day after the hike, on Youth Day, to finish up their work. Well, what can I do except wishing them good luck and hope they have an enjoyable and fulfilling time on the hike? Me, on the other hand, will be participating in the Interschool Philosophy Dialogue 2008@RI tomorrow morning. I signed up cos it sounded really interesting, the topics too... Can show some of you some examples of the topics/scenarios being discussed next time. I will be doing the topic titled 'The Girlfriend from Hell' lols. Then tomorrow afternoon, will be going for tuition as usual, then back to Bishan to do the Geog PT, haha. So that pretty much sums up this week, which was full of lost sleep. I will make up for them now...
Oh yes, reaching my 200th post soon! =D

Lols, thanks so much blog. You gave me the motivation to complete yesterday's work! (cos its also past 12 now, lol) Yesterday was crazy, all the physics PT stuff, like graphs...almost sick of it. And the social advocacy, which wasnt that bad, but i spoke badly today. Ms Quah didnt even record any good points about my speech lor...
Just researched on synthetic division, which we have to answer Mrs Lim on the next maths lesson, lol. Probably someone/all of us will have to write lines again? Also did geog essay jus now....not much...done, not to do.
Today school was rather boring, all very 'academic' lessons, like the usual even week mondays. Was hoping this would change, but it wasnt. Anyway, my tongue is still feeling burnt from lunch: was released late due to chinese book test (which was rather easy). ok, understandable.
*Warning-Ranting Ahead*
Then went to RJ and queued up at one of the Malay stalls. Just before it was my turn, they said they had ran out of rice... Ok, just barely tolerable. So I went over to the roti prata stall where the rest of them were queueing. When it was my turn, I told the woman clearly what I wanted. 2 plain on one plate and 1 plain and 1 egg on 1 plate. Lols, ok it doesnt 'sound' clear hear(here) but it was. the lady understood me. But the man didnt, and that was when Ming Chan came over and I told them that the 2 plain was for him. The man got confused and started asking Ming Chan in Tamil. Yes, Tamil. I know he is dark, so ok. But when he realised, he continued to scold us in Tamil while we stood there waiting for our food desperately. How can he do that to his customers? Is that even a sign of mutual understanding or stuff? I dont scold people using languages they dont know, much less customers?! And because of that, I had to rush to eat my food, resulting in me pushing hot prata into my mouth and down my throat. Well, it does hurt. And I didnt even finish my food. Wouldnt have the appetite even if I had the time. Now I know why this stall is a school stall. *End of rants*
Ok, just want to forget this. Some fun stuff coming up soon...like A Very Special Walk. Which will be held on the 12 July at Pathlight School, near AMK, from 9am to about 3pm. Its sort of like a short walk then a funfair kind of stuff. Coupons also on sale. Those interested, please tell me! =)
